Q:
Is there any advice you want to share with users to help them avoid common errors in selection or usage of industrial coatings?

Answers:
The civils leave the selection to the coating applicator, this is a big error, as the applicator does not have access to all coating applications and types. The use of a corrosion consultant who will select the correct coating for the application, not a coating from a company based on " well it worked last time so we will use it again". Technical fit for the solution being transported .
~George B, Engineering Consultant, JHB, Southern Africa
A wrong choice of coating system jeopardizes the corrosion resistance of the painted object, its aspect and thus client satisfaction, you will need to do very costly repairs or eventually start from scratch (even more expensive). Turn to professionals only, since the choice of a coating system is very complicated for a novice, and the paint rep has his proven solutions at hand.
~PATRICK P, Engineering Consultant, Leopoldsburg, Belgium
When considering a new investment project for the green technology to replace conventional plating for plastic parts. Treat this project as a capital investment. If for investment amount concern and choose manual ways to be involved in the processes, one might be confronted with disaster in his production.
~Charles Hsu, Engineering Consultant, Hsin-chu, Taiwan
Measure twice, cut once. In other words, research all of the properties of a product and compare to other products before you buy. You might find a more economical source that solves the problem just as well, and you might avoid unforeseen consequences.
~Tom H., Manufacturer, Clackamas, OR
1. Please use appropriate thinners recommended by the manufacturers. 2. Do not use accelerators for fast curing on sites for cold weather applications 3. Please use right tips and air pressure recommended by manufacturers for spraying.
~Anand K, Technical Support, Toronto, Canada
Good communication with manufacturer is key, ensure that product data sheet is clear about use of the coating in your application. Training of contractor by paint manufacturer can be very helpful to avoid application problems.
~William F., Engineer, Albany, NY
Be sure that your selected Coating Applicator will be able to provide a hi-quality work but, at the same time, you must pay them a reasonable price so that they can maintain a consistent hi-quality work. . .
