MicroMo Electronics, Inc. announces the release of a powerful, brushless DC servomotor with integrated motion controller. The motor uses the "System FAULHABER" skewed winding, in combination with a rotor made of Neodymium rare-earth magnets, to achieve speeds up to 12,000 rpm and a continuous torque rating of 50 mNm.

To protect AC motor bearings from electrical damage, a conductive MicroFiber™ shaft grounding brush (SGR) safely channels harmful shaft currents to the ground instead of the motor bearings.

According to the company, the microfibers of the patent-pending brush will last the life of the motor because they operate with virtually no friction and no wear.

Every application has its own specific needs. Brakes or feedback devices, for example, require rear shaft dimensions. Recognizing that conveyors, icemaker-dispensers, food preparation equipment, food dispensers, hot melt dispensers, chemical mixers, and door openers, all have unique requirements, Bison offers a custom line of AC motors. These include permanent split capacitors, three-phase, split-phase, and three-phase inverter duty motors.

Typically, planetary gearboxes are smaller, lighter, and more efficient than other gearbox types. For the user, this means a high-speed reduction capability in a very small footprint. The latest SQUIGGLE motor from New Scale Technologies, Inc. is the smallest linear motor on the market. At 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm, the new SQL-1.5 piezoelectric motor is half the size of competing micro-motors. It offers a 20 g push force and sub-micron position resolution, performing 10 times better than its closest competitor on both counts.

In applications where space is a premium, and in harsh environments such as underwater or in a vacuum situation where stable operation is required, a coreless, stiff, 4 mm linear servomotor with a resolution of 0.09 nm, a weight of 9 g, and a stroke length of 40 mm, is suitable as a Piezo replacement.

Take two major newspaper-printing houses with failing newspaper folders and you've got missed deadlines and major headaches. Both UK printers were provided with a shaftless servo system based on Siemens' air-cooled, ultra-compact AC asynchronous motors. When used in combination with the b maXX from Baumüller, it can continuously control the entire motion cycle of a robotics welding process, eliminating inaccuracies caused by compressible media.

Parker's MPP motors feature segmented lamination technology, which can yield up to 40% higher torque per unit size than conventionally wound servo motors. "Potted" stators improve heat transfer for better thermal efficiency, resulting in increased torque at the motor shaft. Learn more!
