BIG "JOHN" AND LITTLE "JOHN"

To facilitate the application of BIODISK Corp.'s proven BIODISK wastewater treatment technology in remote applications, they have developed two unique new packages, which they call Big John and Little John. These two applications are used for the treatment of sanitary wastes from up to 333 and 166 persons respectively at construction sites and permanent installations….usually at remote locations.

The Big John and Little John packages combine two proven technologies….the BIODISK and the ISO shipping container. The package makes use of BIODISK Corp.'s Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) process and houses it in 40 and 20 foot long shipping containers. On site, the shipping containers become an integral part of the sanitary wastewater treatment facilities.

Combining their BIODISK RBC wastewater treatment process with ISO shipping containers, has proven to have many advantages and benefits over conventional approaches to wastewater treatment:

BIODISK M75

BIODISK M75 is a full steel complete sewage treatment plant supporting a 75 persons camp and provides secondary effluent quality. It is shipped completely assembled for a cost-effective field installation. The system includes Ultra-Violet disinfection, flow meter and control panel all installed in a control room. Operators have a safe and clean working area. This system is designed for an outdoor warm climate such as Mexico.

BIODISK Little John

BIODISK Little John Wastewater Treatment Plant is a completely portable system designed to fit inside a standard ISO sea container. The wastewater treatment plant has built into it: Ultra Violet disinfection, flow meter, sampling tap and a control panel, all of which are all installed inside a control room. Little John provides secondary effluent quality and can treat a hydraulic load of 45 m3/d. The control room is shipped inside the works and is removed and placed at the end of the tank on site. Electrical wiring is completed and installed in our shop and can be quickly connected at the site. These units are designed for an outdoor cold climate with an operating temperature down to- 40 Celsius.

BIODISK Big John

BIODISK Big John Wastewater Treatment Plant is a portable self contained wastewater treatment plant comprised of a stand-alone steel tank including a primary clarifier, four staged Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC), final clarifier, Ultra Violet disinfection, control panel, heating and RBC cover. All components are housed in a 40 foot container that is easily transportable, off loaded and installed on site. All electrical components are wired in shop.

Process

BIODISK systems use a natural process for the treatment of wastewater utilizing RBCs. The process meets or exceeds effluent requirements as specified by regulatory agencies. Complete Treatment Facility

RBC facilities have primary clarification, aeration, final clarification and easily accommodate auxiliary equipment such as filtration, disinfection, chemical addition and minimal bio solids management. The treatment process can be designed for secondary, tertiary and advanced wastewater treatment.

Wastewater treatment using a BIODISK is a natural biological process based on the principle of the rotating biological contactor (RBC). It is self regulating, a complete treatment plant and can be sized to meet your needs. The treatment process has capabilities of secondary, tertiary and advanced treatment with an additional capability of denitrification.

All BIODISK systems are assembled at the factory to ensure easy field erection.) Treated effluent is discharged as surface water. The full steel system will be removed when the local municipality extends their sewage collection system.

Waterloo Biofilter SC Package Treatment Plants deliver excellent treatment with minimal maintenance and power usage. This patented system utilizes a filter medium designed to promote and protect very high concentrations of beneficial bacteria. The filter media also increases retention time, allows air-flow throughout, and will sustain bacterial colonies even during low-flow periods. A treatment room houses the proprietary filter medium and an accessible control room houses all electrical equipment, plumbing, and optional alum dosing and UV disinfection. One SC-40 unit can treat septic tank effluent from 25 3-bedrooom houses to sand filter quality.
