Benefits Summary: The NCM02-05-005-4X Moving Magnet Voice Coil Linear Actuator is ideal for short stroke applications that require the simplicity and small size of a solenoid or a pneumatic actuator but require the controllability of a servo. Unlike a solenoid, the H2W Linear Actuator produces a constant force regardless of actuator position. This makes setup and tuning of the control loop much easier than for devices that have non-linear force profiles. When controlled in a closed loop servo configuration, the actuator can be accurately positioned throughout its entire stroke length and is capable of following a multitude of acceleration profiles. The actuator does not require commutation; therefore a simple DC amplifier typically used for brush type motors is well suited. Linear DC amplifiers are also compatible and will reduce EMI. The actuator can be provided with a hollow shaft for routing electrical and vacuum lines and can also be supplied with magnetic latching mechanisms for vertical applications.
