A3903 Low Voltage DC Motor Driver
New Low Voltage, Bi-Directional DC Motor Driver in an Extremely Small 2.0 × 2.0 mm Package
High output current and wide operating voltage range ideal for portable applications
More >>
The A3903 is a low voltage bidirectional DC motor driver with a typical input voltage range of 3 to 5.5 V and output currents up to 500 mA. The unique output full-bridge incorporates source-side linear operation to allow a constant voltage across the motor coil. This regulated output minimizes motor voltage change due to I × RDS(on) variation and battery voltage tolerance.
Logic input pins are provided to control the motor direction of rotation, brake, and standby (< 500 nA supply current) modes and to allow optional PWM of the sink drivers. Internal protection circuitry includes thermal shutdown, undervoltage lockout, and crossover current (shoot-through) protection.
The A3903 is supplied in a 2 mm × 2 mm, 0.55 mm nominal height, 8-lead DFN package, with exposed thermal pad (package suffix EE). This small footprint package is lead (Pb) free, with 100% matte tin leadframe plating.

Portescap, A Danaher Motion Company
New 35mm Brush DC Motor from Portescap
Smaller, lighter package delivers higher continuous output power than comparably sized DC motors, the New 35mm Brush DC Motor from Portescap.
Portescap, a Danaher Motion Company, has expanded its family of brush DC motors by introducing 35GLT motors. These RoHS-compliant motors have a 35mm housing and weigh just 360 grams, while delivering a 40% increase in torque-to-volume ratio when compared with standard iron core motors of similar frame size. The maximum continuous torque approaches 150 mNm in the 35GLT, a 25% improvement over similar conventional models. They are available with five winding types in the voltage range of 24V to 90V, and are cost-effectively customizable for use with a range of gearboxes and encoders. More Information... Quick Links:
"The 35GLT comes out of Portescap's history of innovation and experience in designing multi-layer coil Brush DC coreless motors, and is precision engineered to minimize speed variations at higher loads. As an example, the 48V coil has only 0.4% speed variation when the motor has a load fluctuation of 5 mNm at a continuous torque of 100 mNm. In medical, aerospace and electronics assembly markets, this unique design feature, for the 35GLT, improves actuation at higher torques," says Udayan Senapati, Brush DC Product Line Manager at Portescap. More >>
MicroMo Electronics, Inc. announces the addition of two new powerful, ultra-flat DC motors to its product line. The motors are 15 and 26 mm in diameter with a housing length of 5 or 7 mm. The motors possess an outstanding power to volume ratio and can achieve a constant torque of up to 3 mNm and speeds up to 10,000 rpm. The low overall height is enabled by the ironless rotor with three flat, oval coils. The rotor revolves with minimal moment of inertia in an axially aligned neodymium magnetic field, without cogging or iron loss. Because of the precious metal commutation, the transition resistances are low which means that the motor can operate with small starting voltages. As a result, these motors are particularly suitable for battery operated portable devices.
The motors are available as geared motorheads with attached spur gear. With this configuration the constant torque of the drives can be increased up to 100 mNm.
Most versions are immediately available from stock with a 24 - 48 hour turnaround.
