Jiffy-Drill
Jiffy-Drill is the light, powerful, and compact answer to production drilling, reaming, spot facing, and similar operations. It will drill holes up through 1-1/2" diameter in steel with ample allowance for dull bits. In tests it has drilled 1-3/4" diameter holes in steel, and has produced 0.025 chips in mild steel using Model B-6 motor.

Using a hydraulic motor to rotate the spindle, the standard unit will produce up to 6 HP, yet is so compact that two units will mount side-by-side on 3-5/16" spacing, or as close as 3-3/16" if housing is specially machined and if one unit is ordered with feed piston ports on the opposite side, or bottom. See price list for optional port locations. The Jiffy-Drill is very compact, with a maximum length of less than 27" from end of motor to end of drill chuck when a standard Model B-3 motor and the standard No. 3 Morse taper spindle are used. The length is slightly greater with larger hydraulic motors.

The high filament concentration and substantial stem make this brush ideal for use in semi-automatic and fully automatic machinery, CNC and robotics. The stem has three flats for use in a standard drill chuck.

Internal brushes provide hard-working brush action for fast, thorough cleaning and finishing in such hard-to-reach places as small diameter holes, internally threaded surfaces, and many otherwise inaccessible areas. The Higher filament concentration in these brushes is excellent for heavy deburring with minimum cycle time on stainless steel and hardened alloys.
Osborn can customize its internal brushes with mounting adapters. Options include – threaded shank or straight shank with flat.
Operating suggestions:
• Can be used dry or wet
• Chuck brush tool at the stem as close to the filaments as the application will allow
• If extension is required, support the brush by plunging the brush into the bore in the static position and stop the brush prior to exiting the bore
• Run the brush tool in both directions with a complete stroke cycle
• Operational speeds between 600 and 1800 RPM

ITI Tooling Company Inc. announces the availability of the new "Space Saver" VDI Spindle units. These new tool holders are designed to increase machine production capability by increasing tool capacity and reducing "chip-to-chip" or retooling time. The new concept increases the utility of all available tool spaces, two sometimes fourfold. The X-Axis is occupied twice by mounting one tool holder in the Y-Axis and one tool holder in the Y-Axis. In combination with the Y-Axis of the machine itself, a hole can be drilled and threaded using just one tool space. The utilization of the Z-Axis is even more effective. On a two-spindle machine, two tool holders for the main spindle and two tool holders for the sub-spindle are used. A complex work piece can be machined with tool capacity left over. When utilizing all of the tool spaces to the maximum, the machine can be equipped with up to 72 tools, drastically increasing machine production capability, reducing downtime and overall production cost!
