Couplers Superior joining solutions for a wide variety of conduit, duct, and pipe products!
- Shur-Lock II – A patented, UL-Listed coupler for joining HDPE, PVC, or metal conduit to HDPE conduit. Made of durable HDPE with stainless steel lock rings and band clamps for optimum corrosion resistance. O-ring joints pressure-tested to over 125 psi for excellent performance for cable-blowing applications. Easy assembly using a 5/16" nut driver. An "NS" (no stop) version is available for installing the conduit in confined areas. The Shur-Lock™ II Coupling System is a patented* design for high-integrity joining of HDPE and PVC conduits. The body of the Shur-Lock™II is manufactured from durable high-density polyethylene. The exteranl band clamps and locking rings are made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The o-ring joints have been air pressure tested to hold over 130 psi and the water sealing capability withstands head pressures of greater than 20 feet.
- The Sur-Lock™II is UL-Listed making it ideally suited for C&I electrical applications utilizing HDPE ducts or conduits. Beveling tools are also available for preparing the ends of the duct to facilitate the proper installation of the coupler.
- Split-Lock™ – UL-Listed die-cast, corrosion-resistant aluminum, the split design allows re-entry after cable installation. An E-Coated version for extended corrosion protections and specialized profiles are available for coupling various hybrid and corrugated conduits. Provides excellent seal around conduit interface for cable-blowing applications. Made from lightweight, high-strength, corrosion-resistant aluminum, the precision design helps to assure excellent sealing around the conduit interface. Split-Lock's superior sealing capability makes it particularly suited for use with air-assisted cable placing systems. This design is also ideal for accessibility to cable in the conduit as slack/maintenance loop locations. The couplers can be retrieved and reused following temporary joining of conduits.
The Split-Lock™ is UL-Listed* which makes it ideal for C&I electrical applications utilizing HDPE and/or PVC conduits. The only hand tool required for assembly is a 7/16 nut driver or 216C can wrench. For the 552P series, our special E-coating process, in combination with stainless bolts, provides you with the most corrosion-resistant aluminum coupler in the industry. The ARNCO IA 552 DAV Conduit Assembly Vise is recommended to allow one person to securely hold the conduit ends aligned for ease of marking and cutting. The vise ends can be rotated to simplify alignment of conduit ends during installation of the coupler.
- PVC Compression – For coupling SDR and Schedule sizes of polyethylene conduit. Made of durable PVC. Internal double-compression, watertight. PVC compression couplers are used to quickly join and seal lengths of Polyethylene conduit. The internal double compression seal is created as the cap is tightened. Note: PVC compression couplers are not recommended for high pressure air or gas lines, or applications requiring high pull-off resistance.
- High Performance Aluminum – Precision machined, reverse-threaded couplers for maximum pull out strength. The extra sharp buttress thread design and gradual tapered profile ensures the highest pullout, alignment ,and sealing performance available in a threaded design. Aluminum threaded couplers machined to provide a more precise fit to conduit with non-standard OD's, such as the SIDR sized conduit. The tapered thread design is more gradual than the Universal Aluminum type which provides increased thread-to-duct contact for greater pullout strength and better air sealing for air-assisted cable placement. They are typically installed using a pipe or strap wrench.
- Universal Aluminum – This economical reverse-threaded coupler is easy to install and will fit a wide range of diameter variances within a given size conduit. A tapered threaded aluminum coupling employing left-hand and right-hand threads for joining a wide range of smoothwall and corrugated conduits. They are typically installed using a pipe or strap wrench.
- E-LOC – A low-cost, push-on coupler constructed of PVC body with a molded inner rubber profile for joining HDPE, PVC, FRE, and metallic conduits or ducts in sizes ranging from 1" SDR to 8" SDR. Suitable for buried and above ground applications however, it is not recommended for cable-blowing applications. The E-LOC coupler is a pvc push-on coupler with a molded rubber gripping insert. The ringed-profile of the insert provides a water-tight seal when joining various conduit, duct, and pipe products with smoothwall, ribbed, or corrugated profiles. The coupler can be used to join dissimilar materials such as HDPE, PVC, fiberglass (FRE) and metallic conduits commonly used in the telephone, electrical utility, and CATV industries. The PVC outer body of the coupler is suitable for both underground and above-ground applications.
- MOR Clamp – MOR clamps are ideal for joining conduit, or used as a repair clamp, in sizes ranging from 2-1/2" to 10" ID's. The sturdy stainless steel body, rubber gasket and 4-bolt design provide exceptional pull out strength. Mor-Clamp is an excellent coupler for coupling two large diameter HDPE conduits or for use as a transition coupling for HDPE to PVC conduit. When assembled correctly, the Mor-Clamp offers good pull-out resistance and provides an excellent seal. Its split design makes it a good choice as a coupler for repairing damaged conduit around existing cable. Its compression design readily adjusts to normal outside diameter tolerance variations in conduit. The corrosion-resistant external stainless steel shell assures proper conduit alignment is maintained after assembly, which is critical to future cable pulling or pushing operations.
- Electrofusion – A premium coupler system that fuses to the conduit for maximum air tightness and pull out strength. Electrofusion couplers provide the ultimate in pullout strength while ensuring total air and water tightness. They are ideal for applications involving directional boring, plowing, or submerged water crossings. this specialized coupling incorporates a coiled heating element in its interior wall. The element is heated by using a compatible microprocessor that provides a controlled current for a specific duration. The result is the coupler is heat-fused to the outside surface of the HDPE conduits or ducts being joined. The couplings can also be used to join HDPE to PVC.
- Butt-Fusion – A low-cost effective process for heat-fusing conduit ends together without the need for a coupler. This process provides a high strength joint that is air and water tight. Electrofusion couplers provide the ultimate in pullout strength while ensuring total air and water tightness. They are ideal for applications involving directional boring, plowing, or submerged water crossings. this specialized coupling incorporates a coiled heating element in its interior wall. As an additional service for its Plastic Piping manufacturer
clients, NSF provides electrical safety testing of PVC and HDPE
electrical conduit and telecommunications duct.
This program was
founded in 2001 to help clients save time and resources by bundling
both their health effects and electrical safety testing. These
services, however, are available to any client, existing or new,
regardless of their need for health effects testing. NSF performs electrical testing entirely at its Ann Arbor, Michigan
headquarters. The facility has been listed in the Federal Register as
an OSHA Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) for electrical
safety and is also accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC)
to perform certifications to CSA standards.
Standards In this program area, NSF tests to the following related standards:
- UL 651 – Schedule 40 and 80 PVC Conduit
- UL651A –Type EB and A Rigid PVC Conduit and HDPE Conduit
- UL 651B –Continuous Length HDPE Conduit
