Paratherm Corporation - Paratherm NF® Non-Fouling Heat Transfer Fluid
Paratherm Corporation
Paratherm NF® Non-Fouling Heat Transfer Fluid

The Paratherm NF® heat transfer fluid is highly efficient, thermally stable and cost-effective. Completely non-toxic, it is exceptionally safe to use and is easy to dispose. Used fluid can be safely combined with spent lubricating oils and recycled locally.

Paratherm NF® Non-Fouling Heat Transfer Fluid

Unlike conventional heat transfer fluids, the Paratherm NF will not cause hard carbon formation on heated surfaces. Conventional heat transfer fluids, when severely overheated, will produce sooty carbon at the film layer. Much of this carbon immediately adheres to the heated surface and bakes on, forming a crust. As layer-upon-layer builds up, heat transfer - and in many cases flow - is impaired. Although nearly impossible to remove without scraping, sandblasting or using chlorinated solvents, the carbon can ultimately break loose, and large chunks of it can circulate through the system impeding flows and fouling components. Where fouling is extreme, heater tubing and electrical elements will stress and prematurely fail. Under similar extreme overheat conditions, the NF fluid evolves small carbon granules. These granules remain in suspension and are easily filtered out.

Paratherm Corporation - Paratherm LR™ Low-Range Heat Transfer Fluid
Paratherm Corporation
Paratherm LR™ Low-Range Heat Transfer Fluid

Paratherm LR (Low Range) heat transfer fluid, for -40ºF to 400ºF, is a non-corroding glycol/water replacement. It is non-aromatic and non-aqueous. It also replaces silicone oils. And compared to some solvent-based low temperature heat transfer fluids, the Paratherm LR has a higher flash point, giving it a combustible, not flammable rating.

Paratherm LR™ Low-Range Heat Transfer Fluid

Users of Paratherm LR that switched from a silicone-based fluid have reported that the LR fluid will dissolve residual silicone oil in the system. Paratherm R&D has confirmed that the LR fluid will easily assimilate 5% silicone oil, by volume.

The Paratherm LR fluid is designed for a broad variety of cooling and heating applications. It is engineered to provide extended performance under rugged operating conditions, yet is easy and safe to handle.

Environmental Safety The LR fluid is plant-friendly and safe to use. The crystal-clear fluid contains no SARA1.- reportable substances such as chlorinated hydrocarbons, aromatics, heavy metals, or compounds of sulfur and nitrogen.

Fluid Toxicity The Paratherm LR fluid is non-toxic. And unlike other heat/cool liquids, it emits no pungent or noxious odors. Be sure to consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before using this product. This fluid is also rated food-grade by NSF.

Fluid Disposal Easy to dispose, used or contaminated LR fluid can be safely combined with spent lubricating oils and recycled locally (EPA, citation 57FR21524). Paratherm strongly encourages recycling of used heat transfer fluid to conserve natural resources and to minimize the problem of liquid waste in landfills. Please review local, state and federal regulations when you plan to dispose of any material. Liquids contaminated with chlorinated solvents or other regulated materials may require special handling, and may not be accepted by recyclers.

Paratherm CR™ Low-Temp. Heat Transfer Fluid

Features:

  • 20% Improvement in Flow Rate
  • No Equipment Modifications
  • 10°F Lower Operation, Same Viscosity
  • Aerospace Testing Fluid
  • Fine Chemical Processes, Pharmaceutical Production

The Paratherm CR® (Patent Pending) heat transfer fluid provides predictable, repeatable performance in cryogenically-driven processes. Consistent properties improve productivity, and eliminate runaway coil freeze-ups. 10-cP viscosity @ -88ºC (20-cP @ -96ºC) brings higher efficiency at lower temperatures. Ease of containment and handling allow greater latitude in system design and component specification, and eliminate contamination and costly clean-up.

These advantages, combined with the fluid's unusually low freeze point of < -120°C, can lead to substantially shortened production times, improved product quality, better yields, and less hassle, when compared to d-limonene or silicone oil.
