Another unique feature is Vigilant's SetPoint mirror temperature control which allows the user to chill the mirror to a predetermined temperature above dew point and alarm/alert the user if the dew point attains or exceeds this threshold. To provide extended intervals of unattended operation, the Vigilant boasts a new Automatic Balance Control (ABC) scheme that automatically corrects for the light reducing affects of mirror contaminates. In addition, the Vigilant features both analog and digital outputs. 0-5VDC and 4-20mADC can be assigned to any parameter and are user scalable throughout the entire range. Cryogenic Hygrometer - CR-1A - from Buck Research Instruments L.L.C.

The CR-1A is a high performance, cryogenically cooled hygrometer. CR-1 instruments have been routinely used aboard NASA aircraft and elsewhere for years. The CR-1A is a miniaturized version of the original CR-1, and uses a much smaller LN2 dewar. Operating time per filling of LN2 ranges from 6 to 8 hours, depending on the dew points being measured.

Options include:

• ±0.1% accuracy pressure transducer, for measuring mixing ratio (ppmv or lbs/MMSCF)
• an ambient temperature sensor for measuring absolute or relative humidity.

These outputs are available on the optional 4-line LCD display and on both serial RS-232 and analog outputs.

The CR-1A is designed to operate with virtually no attention. Maintenance demands are minimal, consisting of dewar filling and occasional mirror cleaning as necessary.

Model 137 Aircraft Hygrometer

The model 137 aircraft hygrometer is a rugged, shock mounted, military qualified instrument for the primary measurement of dew point in flight or in installations with existing flow, such as wind tunnels. It features a miniature remote sensor employing a platinum resistance thermometer, and has 15 feet of interconnecting cable to the control unit. Precision calibration units for the linear analog outputs are included. Power 115 VAC +/- 10%, 50 to 1000 Hz, 50 watts nominal.

The DewTrak™ Portable Humidity Meter, Model 100, is a very versatile instrument. It is a hand-held digital hygrometer that combines the inherent accuracy, reliability, and long-term stability of optical chilled mirror technology with the convenience of a battery-operated micro-processor-based unit.

A battery pack that consists of standard primary cells is attached to the back of the instrument. The Model 100 can also be used for continuous monitoring when it is equipped with the Battery Eliminator option that permits 115-230 VAC, 50/60 Hz operation. The basic instrument measures dew point only in ºC or ºF (switch selectable). Options are available that permit ambient temperature (ºC or ºF), % relative humidity, wet bulb temperature (ºC or ºF), or other psychrometric variables.
