Hydroxide precipitation systems are a time tested method for the removal of settleable solids, including heavy metals, from a liquid wastestream. The process requires adjusting the pH of the wastewater with alkaline reagents to reduce the solubility of dissolved metal and settling and removing the resulting metal hydroxide precipitates. The resulting sludge produced by this process is processed through a filter press and the pH adjusted effluent can be discharged to sewer or further processed for recycling.
Our highest priority in the design of any system is compliance with environmental laws. Systems are designed to be flexible and will be useable for future waste streams while providing cost effective removal of solids and heavy metals today. Systems for additional treatment, (chrome reduction and cyanide destruction) are offered to provide compliance of appropriate effluent regulations.
Systems are sized to accommodate flow rates of 5gpm to several hundred gpm. Low volume systems are offer in a sequencing batch process which can also be used for chrome reduction and cyanide oxidation.R3 Water Technologies provides components, installation and complete training of system operations.
