The high speed, power and stability of the ML-G9300 is ideally suited for production applications such as ID and traceability marking in the electronic components industry with its ability to mark components at high speeds with ultra-small characters. In the automotive industry, the 9300 enables input of CAD and JPG files as well as user-defined fonts. In the electrical industry, accurate reading of bar codes is a key factor and a variety of 2D codes can be used. In the food, chemical and cosmetic industries, sharply reduced character blurring ensures more accurate recognition, a major advantage on high-speed lines. The high resolution ML-G significantly increases marking definition from the conventional 15 µm down to 1µm, a major advantage with detailed fonts and small logo marking.

WaveGuide technology, an Industry First developed by Keyence, folds the laser beam into a Z shape providing higher power in less space. Increased power enables the marking of such materials as stainless steel, resin, glass, rubber and paper. The ML-G can also be used for laser machining purposes such as laser cutting rof esin film, boring and wire sheath cutting. The ML-G9300 design incorporates a metallic hardware seal to suppress CO2 leakage thus further extending the life of the oscillator up to 10 years. The result is a significant cost saving in maintenance and line stoppage. Stability is enhanced by the marker's dust-proof structure and noise immunity provided by a specially designed enclosure. A barrier wall completely separates the oscillator and scanner to prevent external air and dust particles from contaminating the scanner mirror, a common cause of blurring in conventional designs. The structure also includes EMF shielding for the entire marking head, preventing any external noise from effecting the scanner and control board.

Additional advantages of the 9300 Series include ease of installation, operational safety, reduced set-up time, advanced image display, provisions for editing character strings and position during the marking operation, and exceptional application flexibility.

Air-Cooled, Double Dust-Proof Structure Reduces Operating Costs
The MD-H does not require a water cooling system, cooling water, ion-exchange resin, filters or other consumable supplies required by conventional YAG laser markers. The air cooling system provides reduced running costs, less maintenance and a smaller installation space.

Double Dust-Proof Sealing Eliminates Environmental Contamination
The housing of the marking head is completely sealed (1st dust-proof structure) and the inner laser light path is completely isolated (2nd dust-proof structure). In addition to the double dust-proof design, the newly employed structure of the separated cooling area completely blocks dust and oil mist, maintaining stable marking performance.

Dust, dirt, and oil mist… tough construction for reliable,trouble-free marking performance under harsh conditions. The entire housing of the marking head is completely sealed (1st dust-proof structure) and the laser light path inside the marker unit is completely isolated (2nd dust-proof structure). The double dust-proof structure with the 1st and 2nd dust-proof walls completely blocks dust and oil mist, maintaining stable marking performance.

The entire path of the laser beam, from the laser oscillator in the marker unit to the scanner area, is housed in a metal block to achieve complete isolation. Extreme cleanliness is maintained by employing a completely seamless all-in-one structure without exposing the laser oscillator, scanner, lens and other important optical components to impure substances.

External air that enters the cooling chamber cannot contaminate the laser oscillator or the scanning area with dust, dirt or oil mist. The innovative idea of completely separating these chambers provides a perfect air cooling system that is unmatched by conventional YAG systems.

Industry's Deepest Focal Depth
By optimizing long established optical marking technologies, KEYENCE has succeeded in creating a YAG laser marker with a large focal depth of ±7mm. Even when the target distance varies such as with irregular or curved surfaces, clear marks can be produced. The MD-H has the best focal depth in the industry for an air cooled YAG laser marker

No Water Cooling Equipment or Supplies Required
The completely air-cooled system eliminates the need for water cooling equipment that is normally essential for conventional YAG laser markers. Since no water is used to cool the laser oscillator, there is no need to periodically replace the ion exchange resin, filter, or pure water. This system has reduced the running costs and man-hours for maintenance services. In addition, installation space for the equipment has been reduced. As a result, production efficiency can be improved\\

Characters to be Marked Are Displayed on the Workpiece Surface
The guide laser scans a red laser beam at high speed to display the characters and area of marking on the actual work piece. This function ensures accurate positioning even on small workpieces or targets with a complicated profile. In addition, the marking area and ruled-line guide laser will help confirm the maximum marking area or compensate for the angle.

MD-H9800 Accepts CAD Data Directly
Most conventional markers cannot accept CAD data because of a difference in DXF file version or format. With the MD-H Series, data conversion is no longer necessary. Graphics stored as CAD data can now be captured directly using KEYENCE Marking Builder software and then printed with the MD-H Series.

Pulsed Fiber Laser Source

Our pulsed fiber laser source features 50,000 hours MTBF , versus 10,000 hours max MTBF on Nd:YAG and Nd:YVO4 (Vanadate) laser sources. Much higher reliability is frequently achieved, even to 100,000 hours.

Our laser marker, including the laser source itself, operates in an extended temperature range between 0°C and 45°C (32°F + 113°F). Humidity tolerance is 0% to 90%.

Plastics and resins can be easily laser marked utilizing low power. Therefore, as scan head speed is increased up to and beyond 100 inches per second, the only limitation to mark quality is the pulse frequency of the laser itself, as the spot overlap is not easily maintained at such high speeds.

Operating with a Q-switch frequency of up to 500 kHz, Miyachi Unitek's new LMF2000 Fiber Laser Marker - with superior Q-switch range and performance compared with other fiber laser technologies - can maintain this spot overlap to take full advantage of the marking speed of the scan head. The result is a mark completed in the fastest time, limited only by the scan head itself, or the power of the laser. Although some laser markers can operate in CW mode, the LMF2000's high frequency Q-switch results are superior to CW in terms of mark contrast, due to very short pulse durations and higher peak power.

This maximization of marking speed is particularly suited to applications such as the marking of IC chips (see video) where mark times may be minimized without a dual marking head system.
