The new PSL Pump Station Level Controller features a non-contacting ultrasonic sensor, isolated 4-20mA output and 6 programmable control relays for pump control, pump alternation, and for level alarms. It is designed for sewage lift stations, wet wells and storage tanks. An automatic pump run time logging and reporting system helps operators to plan pump maintenance and identify "lazy" pumps before they fail.

Each Greyline PSL includes the Greyline software program PSL Remote for Windows™. Operators can prepare and save calibrations in advance and download to the PSL directly through it's password-protected RS232 interface. Or dial-up PSL pump stations through regular phone lines and modems to adjust calibration and observe level and relay states in real time. Calibration and relay set points can also be changed through the Greyline PSL's built-in keypad.

DESCRIPTION

The Model 4093 is a compact, socket mounted Liquid Level Controller that operates by monitoring the conductive liquid resistance between probes.

The unit monitors two liquid levels and responds as a pump-up or pump-down control as determined by the switch setting on the top of the unit. The green LED indicates pump operation while the potentiometer allows the user to adjust probe sensitivity.

The 2704BC has the ability to be connected to industry standard conductivity probes that measure TDS levels. Once measured, the 2704BC advanced control algorithm provides precise TDS control through the activation of continuous blowdown valves. Bottom blowdown can also be automated through the use of the 2704BC real-time clock.

The 2704 offers a configurable graphical display technology that allows multiple control functions to be displayed in a user friendly manner. The 2704 also offers significant flexibility. In addition to comprehensive package boiler control, the 2704 can also be configured as an advanced combustion controller using cross-limiting and oxygen trim, a 3-element level controller, or a plant/boiler master.

New Features Introduced

TDS Input Module A new module has been designed to measure TDS within a steam boiler. TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) is the measurement of the amount of solids dissolved in water. The module actually measures conductivity of the water. The more solids that are in the water the more conductive it becomes.

TDS Function Block A TDS function block has been created to convert the measured conductivity value, as measured by the TDS module in mS, to a temperature compensated TDS value in PPM(parts per million) or mS/cm@25oC. The block also allows a user to set a Probe Factor to cater for the relationship between the conductance measured with the probe and the specific conductance of the fluid. The TDS PV is then wired to a control loop that removes water from the boiler when it exceeds the loop setpoint. This method of control is referred to as Continuous Blowdown.

Timed Bottom Blowdown This block has been designed to initiate a Timed Bottom Blowdown to remove the sediment that accumulates at the bottom of the boiler. It is normally carried out at least once per day. The 2704 block can cater for up to three blowdowns per day.

A high integrity network connection between controllers ensures only one boiler is blowing down at any one time. This is essential because the blowdown-receiving vessel will usually only be sized to cope with one boiler blowdown at a time.

Incorporating all the main boiler control elements, the 2704BC provides a very cost effective control solution for packaged Fire- Tube Boilers.

The 2704BC can be used solely to control Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), or also to control Water Level and Boiler Pressure.

It's specialist TDS input module is compatible with standard TDS conductive probes, making both retrofit and new installations easy to accomplish. Additionally, Timed Bottom Blowdown and Main Steam Warm Up make use of the controller's internal real time clock and are included as standard features.

For standard applications, controllers are shipped pre-configured to the users specification, using a simple to complete order code. User customisation can be achieved by reconfiguring the controller via its front panel interface or Eurotherm's itools configuration software.

The 2704BC is fully compatible with the standard 2704 process controller which is capable of up to three PID control loops; data sheet number HA026669.
