: The LSS-007-12-006-XY Two Axis Stepper Motor Gantry Stage was designed for applications requiring a compact dual axis linear motion device. The linear stepper motor's simple design provides trouble free open loop operation while offering a highly repeatable motion platform. The stage is manufactured with long life high cycle flexible flat ribbon cables which are strain relieved and terminated with DB 9 connectors. The linear stepper motor requires a step and direction signal from a standard micro-stepping drive and indexer. The full step resolution is 0.010 inches, however when micro-stepped, step sizes as small as 0.00004 inches can be achieved.
Custom mounting patterns are available for easy integration with other machine components.

This new series of single axis linear steppers with a low profile high flex, long life ribbon cable also includes the motor, bearings and positioning system with home position, and optional end-of-travel limits integrated into a compact package.

A new series of low cost, high performance linear stepper motors has been introduced by H2W Technologies, Inc. Traveling at speeds up to 80 in/sec. [2 m/sec], with strokes to 144 in. [3.6 m], and acceleration to 1G, these 2 and 4 phase linear steppers are ideal for: Pick-and-place, wire bonder, parts transfer, semiconductor, and other robotic applications. Capable of up to 50 lbs. [222 N] of continuous force and 65 lbs. peak force [289 N] this new series of single axis linear steppers has the motor, bearings and positioning system integrated into a compact package.
H2W Technologies linear stepper motors are capable of very precise position, velocity and acceleration control when integrated with a microstepping drive and indexer. The resolution of the 2 phase motors is, one full step equals .010 in. [250 microns] and one microstep equals .00004 in. [1 micron], and the resolution of the 4 phase motors is, one full step equals .005 in. [125 microns] and one microstep equals .00002 in. [.5 microns]. Ideal for open loop positioning applications with light payloads a linear encoder can be integrated to provide a closed loop system.

The step and direction signal from a microstepping driver is supplied to a moving, 2 or 4 phase "Forcer" [coil and magnet assembly] via a power cable. The ground "Platen" [track] is hard chrome plated and surfaced for use with roller bearings or air bearings. Various 2 & 4 phase "Forcers" can be integrated with "Platens" of varying widths from 1.25 in to 3 in. [31.8 mm to 76.2 mm] for precise sizing of an application. Linear steppers can also be custom designed to meet customer specifications and "platens" are available as bars, single piece tubes, and welded tube assemblies.

Captive LINEARSTEP Series Nippon Pulse America introduces the Captive LINEARSTEP Series: Linear-Type Stepper Motor, a RoHS compliant, linear-type stepper motor with a one-piece captive shaft. The guideless, linear shaft movement gives designers a simple linear stepper system at a fraction of the price of a conventional rotary stepper system that must be adapted for linear motion. The anti-rotation cap allows the shaft to actuate without an external guide mechanism that is required with non-captive type linear stepper motors.
The Captive LINEARSTEP produces linear motion in a rotary size package with outside dimensions of 25mm and 35mm, and a 30 mm stroke. Custom stroke lengths are available. Shaft travel in resolutions from 0.010 mm to 0.05 mm per step can yield up to 5 Kg of force. The same drive circuit used for NPM tin-can type steppers can drive the Captive LINEARSTEP.
The Captive LINEARSTEP has ball bearing shaft supports and a welded motor case that ensure long life and durability. The one-piece shaft could eliminate some misalignment issues caused by two-piece shafts.
A special type of thread spec and an enhanced Neodymium magnet rotor enable the Captive LINEARSTEP to deliver high thread efficiency and a large driving force (up to 5 Kg.) The simple design and metric dimensions qualify the actuators for a worldwide market.
High strength magnets in the motors deliver exceptional force based on a design that reduces costs without compromising performance. These new linear actuators give OEMs an opportunity to reduce device components and simplify design. Designers can replace rotary systems that generate complicated linear movement through belts and pulleys or rack and pinions. This can result in smaller space requirements and ultimately lower system costs.
These budget priced captive linear actuators are for low or high volume production. Applications for the Captive LINEARSTEP include laboratory instrumentation, medical pump and syringe devices, small machinery, optical camera systems, and antenna communication devices and other automated devices that require precise remote controlled linear movements in a very small package size.
The 100-piece price of Captive LINEARSTEP is $29 in 25mm and $33 in 35mm.

This revolutionary new series of single axis linear stepper stages, integrates a linear encoder into the single-axis linear stepper motor stage to operate the linear stepper motor as a 2 phase brushless linear motor, when coupled with state-of-the-art motion control electronics package provided by H2W. This allows H2W's stage to achieve speeds and accelerations previously unachievable with a linear stepper motor. The stage includes cable carrier to yield high cycle counts, there are also provisions that allow customer cables to be routed within the cable carrier, custom mounting hole on the moving table are available upon request at no additional charge, 1-micron resolution linear encoder, the stepper motor forcer and platen, bearings and a switch for home position, and optional end-of travel limits are all integrated into a compact package, and cables are terminated in a standard 9-pin d-subminiature connector. This package is low cost, and has a short lead time for custom lengths and/or options.
