The V2 System Flow Meter has an advanced differential pressure flow sensing design. The unit features built-in flow conditioning for superior accuracy. The V2 System is the ideal new or retrofit flow meter for multiple clean water and wastewater treatment applications.

The V2 System is especially useful when irregular or crowded piping and equipment make magnetic, turbine or venturi tube meters impractical or unworkable. Other flow technologies often require complex or expensive construction. The V2 System reduces initial costs substantially. The unit eliminates longer straight-run piping requirements.

V2 System's pre-packaged, built-in 3-way valve isolates the transmitter from the process fluid flow for easy maintenance. No need to shut down the pipeline. The flow meter arrives wet-flow calibrated direct from the factory. The ready-to-install V2 reduces many headaches of adding a flow meter to most flow installations.

NuFlo developed its first flowmeter for oil field applications in 1957. The meter incorporated a tungsten-carbide shaft and bearing to withstand the rugged conditions of the oil field environment. Over the years, this flowmeter has built an unsurpassed reputation for withstanding severe punishment while maintaining operational and measurement integrity.

NuFlo turbine flowmeters indicate flow rate and measure total throughput of a liquid line. As liquid flows through the meter and over the rotor, the rotor turns at a speed that is directly proportional to the flow rate. A magnetic pickup senses the rotor blades as they pass and generates an electrical (sine wave) signal. These electrical pulses are then transmitted to the flow measurement readout equipment.

The display can be toggled between rate and total at the push of front panel key or external switch. The Laureate Model FRT is a UL-listed, 6-digit panel meter which can simultaneously track rate and totalized rate from the same pulse input. The display can be toggled between rate and total at the push of front panel key or external switch. When used with a turbine flow meter, the unit can display rate in units of flow, such as GPM, or totalized flow in units of volume, such as Gallons.

To determine rate, the Laureate FRT first calculates frequency by timing the period between pulses with crystal accuracy, and then multiplies this frequency by a user-programmed scale factor.

The Laureate FRT can also display rate and totals for non-flow applications that utilize a sensor with a pulse output. For example, the unit can display linear speed by timing pulses from a proximity switch, and display total length by integrating these pulses. For rate measurements, the pulse rate can be from 0.05 Hz to 1 MHz.

The Laureate FRT can operate with a wide range of pulse inputs. Exceptional flexibility is provided by the unit's universal dual-channel signal conditioner, which accepts magnetic signals from 12 mV to 250 Vac as well as signals from proximity switches with a PNP or NPN output, TTL or CMOS logic, and contact closures. Jumper selections provide optimum operation for different sensor types and noise conditions.

A built-in isolated 5, 10, or 24 Vdc excitation supply is standard to power proximity switches and other sensors. Options include dual relays for control or alarm, isolated 4-20 mA and 0-10V analog outputs, and an RS232 or RS485 port for data communications with a host computer or PLC. Modbus RS485 is fully supported.

Dual Channel Pulse Totalizer

The UL-listed Laureate Dual-Channel Pulse Totalizer provides two channels, A&B, which may be independently set up and scaled to count up from zero (or other value) to a preset limit, or count down from a preset value to zero (or other limit). Scaling allows direct readout in engineering units, such as gallons, based on counts from a turbine flow meter. Totals are stored in non-volatile memory.

The six-digit counter display is capable of displaying any value from -999,999 to 999,999 with programmable decimal point. The displayed channel (A or B) is selected via a front panel pushbutton.

The minimum recommended option for the Laureate totalizer is a dual setpoint controller output board, which is available with either 10A Form C relays or AC/DC solid state relays.

An optional Extended counter version provides capabilities beyond those of the standard counter:

* Rate and total simultaneously. Channel A can display total while Channel B displays rate. * Up/down counting. Channel A can serve as an up/down counter, where the count direction is dynamically changed by applying a signal to Channel B.
* Totalizing with external inhibit. Totalizing by Channel A can be temporarily inhibited by applying a signal to Channel B.
* Custom curve linearization. Exceptionally accurate custom curve linearization is achievable, for example to linearize the low end of turbine flow meters.
* Arithmetic functions. Channels A & B can be combined mathematically: A+B, A-B, A*B, A/B and A/B-1. For example, A+B allows two input flows to be summed for total volume, while A-B allows outflow to be subtracted from inflow for net volume. A/B allows the mixing of ingredients in a specified ratio. By monitoring and alarming the A/B volume ratio, ingredient B can be added to A until the proper ratio is achieved.
