G.P. (General Purpose) Polishing Stones
Clearence of 50% off existing stock on our Mold & Die General Purpose Polishing Stones.
Mold & Die Polishing Stones TYPE A - Aluminum Oxide Polishing Stone that gives a soft cutting action and a scratch free high polish. It can be recognized by its GREEN-GRAY color. This stone is a favorite for general polishing work.
TYPE B - A soft silicone Carbide Polishing Stone that easily conforms to the contour of the work piece. It loads free and produces a work piece finish equivalent to the grit used. It can be recognized by its BLACK-GRAY color. This stone is used in similar applications to Type A for general purpose work. It will however wear faster than Type A.
TYPE C - A harder stone made especially to remove the hard surface scale left by the electrical discharge machine. It is superior to all other stones for this purpose. It can easily be recognized by its DARK-BROWN color.
TYPE D - A White Aluminum Oxide Polishing Stone. It is somewhat harder than Types A or B. Its applications are similar to Types A and B, with the exception that it works well on the harder steels such as are used in Powered Metal and Die-Cast Dies. High-Carbon High-Chrome steels also seem to cut easily with this stone. It can easily be recognized by its PURE WHITE color.
TYPE E - An extremely soft White Aluminum Oxide Stone. It is available only in 900 Grit, for use prior to high-gloss diamond polishing. It is WHITE in color.
TYPE G - A General Purpose Stone, recommended for detail work. It will hold a shape if preformed as it has a fiber-impregnated silicone carbide with the abrasive. Ideal for polishing around letters, corners and etc. It can be recognized by its LIGHT BROWN color.
