ORMEC Systems Corp.
Motion Control Systems
ServoWire Motion & Logic Controllers (SMLC) offers an integrated, off-the-shelf solution for motion and I/O using IEC 61131-3 programming tools. Leverage standard network interfaces for connectivity with HMIs, PLCs, I/O and factory networks. The SMLC reduces system complexity and lowers total installed cost.
ORMEC's ServoWire Motion & Logic Controller (SMLC) is at the center of a complete solution that can meet all of your motion control, I/O and operator interface needs. The SMLC is a fully-integrated control solution, providing hardware and software building blocks that are engineered to easily plug together and work as a system. This allows engineers to focus on solving their application instead of integrating control components. The SMLC, ServoWire Drive Network, Profibus DP and Modbus/UDP provide state-of-the-art I/O and motion control (for up to 16 axes), all programmed using the CoDeSys IEC 61131-3 standard languages including relay ladder logic.
The ServoWire Motion & Logic Controller (SMLC) features high performance computing capability combined with a true real-time operating system (RTOS). Using the industry standard family of Intel Pentium III 32-bit processors running the QNX RTOS provides plenty of cost effective, robust computing power for even the most demanding multi-axis motion and I/O control applications.
The SMLC provides a multi-tiered, flexible approach to meeting machine I/O requirements. It offers a unique ability to interface high-speed drive based I/O for microsecond position capture and single servo update response to sensor signals. It also provides sub-millisecond programmable limit switch outputs that are tightly coupled to the motion control. General purpose I/O options are fully supported using Profibus DP, Firewire or Modbus/UDP networked I/O from WAGO (750 Series). In either case, a wide variety of analog and digital I/O modules can be cost effectively connected to and controlled by the SMLC.

Star Micronics America
Tri-Axial Acceleration Sensor on a Single Element
Tri-Axial Acceleration Sensors are an addition to Star Micronics growing product line. Star offers both Capacitive and Piezo-Ceramic Sensors. The ACA302 & ACB302 3-Axial Capacitive Acceleration Sensor, and the APA300 is a 3-Axial Piezo-ceramic Acceleration Sensor.
Tri-Axial Acceleration Sensors are an addition to Star Micronics growing product line. Star offers both Capacitive and Piezo-Ceramic Sensors.
The ACA302 & ACB302 3-Axial Capacitive Acceleration Sensors (with Amplifiers) are made up of two electrode plates of a fixed electrode and a flexible electrode. When an acceleration force acts on the flexible electrode plate, the distance between the two electrodes changes. This acceleration is detectyed by utlilizing the change in static capacitance occurring between the electrodes. A capacitor is formed on the opposing split electrode. When acceleration deforms the diaphram mounted with an electrode, the distance between it and the fixed electrode changes, and the resulting change in static capacitance is then detected. This sensor is unique in being able to detect static acceleration (tilt) by measuring the staic capacitance in the static state. Star Micronics has succeeded in making a 3-axis sensor that detects acceleration components along the three axes (X,Y and Z) with just one sensor.
Characteristics:
- 3-Axis Acceleration Sensor on a Single Structure
- 2.7 volts to 5.5 volts DC Power Supply - Low Cost
- Small & Light Size (Amplifier Circuit Loaded)
- Dynamic/Static Acceleration
- Low Current Consumption (ACB302)
The applications for this sensor are:
Titling Sensing, Automotive Alarm Systems,Electronic Game Devices,Automotive Navigation Systems,GPS Systems, Stability Control,Liquid Crystal Projectors,Virtual Games,Shipping & Transportation,Cellular Phones,Fragile Shipping Sensor Detector,etc.
The APA300 3-Axial Piezo-Ceramic Acceleration Sensors (without Amplifiers) take advantage of the principle that applying a force to a certain substance deforms or changes it, and generates an electrical charge in proportion to that deformation. A diaphragm can be made to deform (strain) by applying a weight to a disk-shaped diaphram. This deformation or strain is converted into an electrical signal. Since this piezo-ceramic sensor converts the diaphragm movement into an electrical output only when it deforms, it cannot detect static accleration (tilting. Star Micronics has succeeded in making a 3-axis sensor capable of detecting acceleration components along the 3 axes (X,Y and Z) with just one sensor element.
Characteristics:
- 3-Axis Acceleration Sensor on a Single Structure
- Small & Light Size (9.6 X 7.6 X 3.9 mm) - Low Cost
- Dynamic Acceleration (Vibration)
The applications for this sensor are:
Washing Machines,Data Loggers,Security Product Devices, Pedometers,Action Games,Seismic Sensors,HDD,DVD,Shipping & Transportation,Cellular Phones,Fragile Shipping Sensor Detector,etc.
