Description:

The MOTORCYCLE PILOT is an advanced computer controlled driving robot for test driving of motorcycles on single and dual chassis roll dynamometers. It can be installed on motorcycles within 10 minutes and be ready to perform tests which normally require a human driver. An extremely wide operating temperature range allows use in environments where human driving is impossible or difficult. The computer controlled system offers a high degree of accuracy and repeatability for consistent test results. The specific drive cycle can be operator defined in the software or commanded from a remote host computer (via RS- 232 or LAN interface). Special configuration parameters allow modifying the robot's driving style to match different types of human driving. The SMC2000 system can be linked to exhaust emission analyzers, dynamometer control systems, and remote host computers. The system may be installed without a monitor or keyboard when controlled remotely via host computer and hand terminal. It can be configured to either initiate the driving cycle, or be activated by an external system.

OCEP Optical Communications Earplugs

Why the Micro Optics Technologies OCEP optically driven active earplug

Active earplugs provide a communication speaker/receiver inside a noise reducing earplug delivering the sound directly to the ear canal. An active earplug used under double hearing protection provides high speech intelligibility in high noise environments.

Micro Optics Technologies provides power-by-light solutions for communications earplugs without cumbersome wire connections.

The earplugs were developed under contract with the U.S. Navy to improve hearing protection and communication in the high noise environment on carrier flight decks.

They provide for the high communication quality of a wired earplug but without the cumbersome wire link to the earplug.

Advantages of Power-by-light earplugs

  • Ease of don and doff
  • No wire link as snag hazard
  • No wire link as EMI hazard

The ease of use of the OCEP earplug and the clear communications provided promote user acceptance and use. This means that personnel performance will improve for greater mission effectiveness while hearing protection compliance will improve-- providing the long term benefit of hearing protection.

Applications

  • Military
  • Industrial high noise environments

How does it work

The OCEP earplug uses a patented optical, power-by-light method to deliver the communication signal and the driving power wirelessly to an active earplug.

The optical drive of the earplug speaker is delivered by infrared light originating in the earmuff or helmet.

The user simply inserts the earplug as he or she would with their normal hearing protection earplug. Once they slip on their earmuff or helmet they are immediately connected to receive incoming communications with the clarity and high signal-to-noise that can be delivered by an active earplug – even in noise levels up to 130dBspl.

High Performance Servo Drives In A Small Package

The Danaher Motion S200 Servo Drive allows machine builders to build a better machine faster and increase throughputs at lower costs. The S200 brushless servo drives (AC/DC) push high performance servo technology into lower power applications than were previously possible - without compromise on reliability or package size. Couple the S200 drive with our AKM servo motor for a complete servo control solution designed to excel in applications such as semiconductor fabrication, electronic assembly, packaging, medical, woodworking and general automation equipment.. Increases machine throughput, reduces engineering & support time, simplifies and speeds installation.

Danaher Motion S200 servo drives are the first all-digital industrial drives with a velocity loop bandwidth of 800 Hz. The drive offers unmatched system throughput and simplified tuning.

The high resolution (24-bit) feedback and high performance (3-5 kHz) current loop bandwidth provide smooth motion and rapid response to optimize machine performance and throughputs. Smart feedback allows plug and play commissioning by eliminating the need for drive parameter set-up and servo loop tuning in most applications.

Danaher Motion S200 servo drives come standard with torque and velocity control, electronic gearing, an 18-bit analog reference input, and an encoder equivalent output. The drive family additionally has add-on options to support indexing or SynqNet communications.

Danaher Motion S200 brushless servo drives push high performance Danaher Motion S200 drive's are available for AC (120/240 VAC) or DC (20-90 V) operation with current ratings from 1.5 A rms continuous to 18 A rms peak.

They have a compact footprint ranging from 1.1 in. (28.7 mm) wide and 6.0 in. (152.4 mm) tall to 2.5 in. (64 mm) wide and 6.67 in. (169.5 mm) tall with depths ranging from 3.9 in. (100.8 mm) to 5.2 in. (131.6 mm) allowing them to fit into tight spaces. They are UL 508C recognized, CE marked, and conform to EN50178 and EN61800-3 standards. They also meet Semi F47. Separate "Keep Alive" power input allows rapid recovery from emergency stop conditions. Optically isolated inputs/outputs, positive locking connectors and full fault protection promise long machine life and immunity to accidental damage. A single motor power/feedback cable simplifies connectivity. All connectors and LED status indicators are easily accessible from the front of the drive.

If you are looking for a high performance servo drive in a small package, Danaher Motion's S200 drives extend the benefits of servo motion control technology to new levels of machine design.
