New Global ISO/VDMA Pneumatic Cylinder Family From Parker Hannifin
Parker Hannifin's Pneumatic Division has introduced its line of P1D Series ISO 6431 (and ISO 15552) Pneumatic Cylinders for use in nearly every industrial market that demands flexibility from the same product platform.
As a global design, P1D Series cylinders comprise a cylinder family and are tailored to fit customers' needs. The four versions include Standard, Removable Gland, Clean and Rod Locking cylinders. The first 3 versions are completely interchangeable and provide significant design flexibility.
P1D Standard Version cylinders are available in 32-125mm bores and utilize internal composite technology to save weight, while assuring the high performance and functionality expected of ISO cylinders. Cushions and bumpers at both ends and a magnetic piston are included as standard. The Standard Version serves all markets where performance at an affordable price is desired.
P1D Removable Gland Version cylinders are available in 32-200mm bores and utilize bar stock endcaps and a removable high-strength bronze bearing for traditional and custom applications. The bronze bearing assembly is externally removable for quick and easy maintenance. No other ISO cylinder manufacturer in the world produces a Removable Gland Version and meets these demands. This version covers all applications which require performance and customization at all bore sizes.
P1D Clean Version cylinders are available in 32-125mm bores and utilize positive feature geometry and a IP65 rating to effectively service markets requiring high cleanliness and sanitary standards, such as food and beverage equipment. Accessories are also available in appropriate materials to support these applications.
P1D Rod Lock Version cylinders are available in 32-125mm bores and utilize an integrated head/rod lock design for maximum space savings. The rod lock engages when air pressure to its operating port drops below 60 psi (4 Bar), and the holding force ranges from 123 lbs (550N) for the 32mm bore to 1894 lbs (8425N) for the 125mm bore. A manual override is available for rod lock release during non-production activities.
Standard features for the P1D product line include integrated sensor grooves in the cylinder body to eliminate the need for any bracketing during sensor installation. These grooves readily accept our Global Sensor family and are available on 3 sides to provide customer installation flexibility. The cylinder body is constructed from anodized, smooth aluminum for superior corrosion resistance. The endcaps are either anodized or powder coated aluminum for the same corrosion resistance. Polyurethane and Buna-N seals provide extremely long service life. All mountings are modular (i.e. "bolt-on") for installation at either the factory or the customer application. Stroke lengths for P1D cylinders are immediately available up to 110 inches (2,800mm). Maximum operating pressure 145 psi (10 Bar).
Many options are also available for the P1D product line. Fluorocarbon seals are available for high temperature applications to 121°C (250°F) and/or chemical compatibility. Hydraulic seals are available for hydraulic applications. Porting options include NPTF, BSPP and BSPT standards. A metallic rod scraper can be selected to remove materials adhering to the piston rod. Stainless steel rods, fasteners and accessories are available from stock. Rod ends include standard male and female threads but other designs are easily accommodated.
