Control Technology Corporation
Quickstep State Language Programming Software
Quickstep™ is Control Technology Corporation's state based programming language used to program CTC automation controllers. The format consists of a sequence of events that follows the flow of a machine process.
Quickstep combines a clear language structure, a simple programming interface, and powerful diagnostic tools to enable you to respond quickly to new automation demands. The point-and-click simplicity of the Quickstep editor reduces training requirements, while state language programming makes your programs understandable to all members of your design and operating team. Operating in the familiar Windows environment, Quickstep is the best and easiest solution for automated and equipment programming. Quickstep Features:
·
- Accelerated and intuitive program development
· Quickstep provides a language structure that emulates the way the designer thinks about a machine. The flow-diagram structure of the Quickstep state language ensures you that the time elapsed from Quickstep programming to trouble-free operation is substantially reduced.
·
- Efficient and easy-to-use programming interface
Quickstep enables you to create a program with a series of point-and-click selections of instructions or instruction parameters – no error-prone typing or tedious menus. Since Quickstep enters the instructions, syntax errors are virtually eliminated.
·
- Powerful real-time diagnostics and monitoring
Debugging is simplified with easily understood status displays and high-level error explanations, plus you can adjust many values while your machine runs, greatly reducing the time required to perfect your program. The dynamic display of internal resources as well as the ability to dynamically tune a machine's performance make Quickstep an unbeatable diagnostic and monitoring tool.

Control Technology Corporation
QuickBuilder State Language Programming Software
QuickBuilder™ graphical development environment is built using the latest .NET technology. It combines all aspects of an automation project into one easy to use desktop application. This approach for automation projects leads to quicker machine startups and simpler ongoing maintenance. Software features programming, diagnostics and documentation utilities for automation controllers.
QuickBuilder is a comprehensive graphical project development tool that enables users to configure, program, monitor, and troubleshoot complex control applications. This holistic approach to solving automation projects leads to quicker machine startups and simpler ongoing maintenance.
QuickBuilder includes the following:
- Graphical flowcharting: Building upon CTC's proven state based programming technology, QuickBuilder adds a graphical building-block method to organize the higher level project tasks and task steps. The result is an easy to understand flow chart of the controller's functionality. Steps are then programmed using CTC's QuickStep language or C. This graphical approach simplifies both the initial development process as well as project debug and maintenance functions.
- QuickStep 4: CTC's next-generation programming software enables users to quickly program logic steps in CTC's easy to learn QuickStep state based language. The QuickStep code may be entered automatically using the fill-in-the-blank step editor window or, for experienced users, typed directly into the interactive editor window. Quickstep supports up to 96 simultaneous tasks per processor and includes a full complement of standard and advanced programming commands.
- Library Manager: QuickBuilder's powerful library manager allows individuals and teams to easily share and re-use common code elements. Any portion of a project from a step, a series of steps, a task or an entire program can be saved as a library element. Library elements can be located on a local PC or a shared server. Multiple libraries are supported.
- Resource manager: The Resource Manager provides real-time information on all physical and logical controller resources. All hardware configuration is done directly from the Resource Manager. Resources can be easily dragged into programming or debug views.
- Documentation: QuickBuilder automatically generates detailed project documentation reports that include flowcharts, QuickStep code, resource cross reference lists, where-used listings and project notes. Users have the flexibility to integrate externally generated files such as CAD drawings and spreadsheets directly into the project. All documentation files may be directly downloaded to CTC automation controllers for easy field retrieval.
Features:
1. Powerful real-time diagnostics:
Debugging is simplified with easily understood status displays and grahical diagnostic windows. QuickBuilder has a number of diagnostic tools that simply the machine start up process including: dynamic resources overrides, program step mode, multiple variable watch-windows, and trace capability
2. Advanced Data Logging:
Using QuickBuilder machine operating data can easily be logged to dat arrays or CSV files making it ideal for quality and compliance control
3. Web Enabled features:
QuickBuilder supports CTC's patented web server technology, enabling users to program their devices to securely monitor and control porcess varialbes over intranets or the Internet using a standard web browser.

TURCK Inc.
HANDHELD PROGRAMMING UNIT FOR TURCK BL IDENT RFID
TURCK Inc. introduces a new handheld unit to program data carriers within its new BL ident RFID system.
Read and write operations are easily programmed to the data carriers at any location with the handheld unit. The data is then displayed on an illuminated touch screen (in decimal, binary, hexadecimal and ASCII code) where it may be edited and written to the appropriate data carrier as required.
The BL ident handheld operates with Microsoft Windows CE, making data transfer as simple as exporting a Microsoft Excel file. A WLAN connection allows the BL ident handheld to transfer data directly to a SPC or PC, regardless of the location. This means that the data is always available—even when the automated system is standing still.
The handheld unit also offers automatic read operations, comparison of data records, definition of password protected areas and optional WLAN, Bluetooth and GPRS features.
TURCK is an industry leader providing superior quality sensing, connectivity and network products to help manufacturers improve their automated processes. For other TURCK product or technical information, contact: 1-800-544-7769 • www.turck.com • turckusa@turck.com
