The long range MK-III-LR features a powerful new 2.4 GHz spread spectrum radio that increases range to 1 mile line of site. It also features an industry best , real time 2 second wind speed and direction update interval.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • The solar charged battery supply is guaranteed to provide continues operation below 60 degrees latitude. The MK III will operate for at least 60 days without sun.

Datalogger & Software

Global Water's WE800 Weather Station Data Logger offers state-of-the-art technology for continuous data logging, storing and retrieving of weather station information. All weather stations include the GL400 Data Logger, Global Water Data Logger Software, and a RS232 cable (for communication between the logger and your computer).

The GL400 Data Logger, the weather station's durable and powerful data logging and recording unit, is enclosed in a sturdy weatherproof case. The weather station data logger will operate for several months before its internal 12VDC battery requires recharging. When used in conjunction with solar panels, the weather station data logger can be powered continuously. The GL400 Data Logger includes a real-time clock that dates and time stamps each record. Weather station data can be accessed easily either through a real-time data screen or through a log of recorded data (programming and calibration are not required). Maximums, minimums, and averages can also be obtained from the data using most spreadsheet programs. All weather station data collected by the weather station data recorder can easily be transferred to a disk file for future analysis and storage. The weather station data can be imported into any standard spreadsheet program.

The Weather Station Data Logger includes Global Water Weather Station Data Logger Software, Windows-based software that provies many useful features, such as real-time readout, measurement interval, engineering unit selection, station ID setting, and sensor calibration. The weather station's software makes accessing stored data and setting options easy. Data downloaded from all Weather Stations can easily be opened in any PC spreadsheet program for analysis and graphic presentation. Global Water's Weather Station Data Logger Software will run on a PC-type laptop or desktop computer running Windows 95 or later. To communicate with the Weather Station Data Logger, a computer must be equipped with a standard RS232 serial communication port.

Mounting Hardware
Global Water's Weather Stations include full assembly on a sturdy and durable 1" stainless steel tube frame that can be mounted onto a pre-existing base or onto the WE830 Global Water Weather Station Tripod for upright installation. The Weather Station frame is designed for durability and endurance in harsh conditions. The WE770 Solar Shield, a ventilated sun shield with high reflectiveness, low heat retention, and low thermoconductivity, is provided as protection for the Temperature and Humidity sensors. Global Water highly suggests using the solar shield to protect the Temperature and Humidity sensors from direct sunlight. Temperature and Humidity sensors will not read accurately if exposed to direct sunlight.

Power

A 12VDC 2A-H rechargeable battery is included with the Global Weather Station Data Logger for use in remote applications. This battery can be used in conjunction with solar panels for reliable continuous use.

Installation

Proper siting for weather station sensors is important to ensure accurate readings. For example, wind sensors should not be installed too close to a building, as turbulence created by the building can interfere with readings. The Solar Radiation sensor should be installed in direct sunlight on a level surface (bubble level and leveling screws are included with purchase).

Purchase of both the Wind Direction and Wind Speed sensors includes a T-mounting bar with a 1" stainless steel coupling unit and allen wrench for easy allen set screw instalation. Individual wind sensors or solar radiation sensors include 1" stainless steel elbow couplers and an allen wrench. The Solar Shield (with a stainless steel elbow coupler) can be used for protection and easy installation of the Temperature and Humidity sensors. The Barometric Pressure sensor can be mounted with straps for a variety of applications (including inside a datalogger or to a display for hand-held use).

RainLog Data Logger: data logger provides an economical method of logging rainfall at a remote location where power is not available. This battery operated logger fits inside our polypropylene rain gauge and will log total rainfall at a one minute resolution for up to for one year. RL-Loader 2 - Software: this Windows-based software package will run on Windows 95 or later.RL-Loader is used to configure and download data from the Rainlog. Data is displayed in both text and graphical formats. You can print graphs and reports directly. Previously saved data can be loaded to perform analysis and generate reports. The latest release can export data directly into Microsoft Excel. The device info window gives you vital information about the attached Rainlog, like its time/date and the amount of memory used. The text window displays daily totals or the list of rainfall events as they occurred. The graph window displays a bar chart of the daily rainfall totals. The graphing range is also configurable. RL-Loader can also import files from RetrieverRL a Palm™ based software package for reading data from RainLog's.

The Tipping Bucket rain gauge is ready for installation in the ground. It is calibrated to 0.01 inches / 0.25 mm per tip. Other calibrations are available on request.

The MKIII-LR system measures, records and transmits the following data: WIND SPEED, WIND DIRECTION, TEMPERATURE—OUTSIDE, TEMPERATURE—INSIDE, RELATIVE HUMIDITY, BAROMETRIC PRESSURE, RAINFALL. It also computes: DEW POINT, WIND CHILL, TEMPERATURE/HEAT INDEX. The system is available in a variety of configurations, depending on what the user requires. • The MKIII-LR Sensor Assembly is included in every system, as it collects and transmits the data. The solar-charged battery supply is guaranteed to provide continuous operation below 60° latitude, and will operate at least 25 days without sun. The passive solar shield for the temperature/humidity sensor is modeled after the National Weather Service design. The solar panel and battery are guaranteed for five years. It's sleek design (just 5" x 6" x 27", and under 7 lbs) belies its rugged construction. The extension mounting mast, fabricated from 11/4" schedule #80 PVC pipe, will fit any standard tripod or TV antenna mount. • An attached Rain Gauge can also be included in a system. • The Weather Oracle® multi-display can be purchased to display the Time (date), Temperature (outside, inside, wind chill, dew point), Relative Humidity (temperature/heat index), Barometric Pressure (rising, falling), Rainfall (current, accumulation), Wind Speed and Wind Direction (variation). The Telemetry Control Unit (TCU) pump controller is a fully-programmable, dual-function device. The TCU can be factory-programmed to control up to three fixed speed pumps; or it can be custom programmed for a specialized control application.

As a pump control device, the TCU contains all the hardware and software needed to control up to three motor starters based on level input. Float ball switches, pressure transducers, or other types of analog level sensors are supported.

When used as a custom programmed device, the TCU can control up to six discrete devices, monitor up to 12 discrete inputs and monitor up to two analog devices.

The TCU features dual double-speed microcontrollers. One handles the control functions while the other manages the unit's communications. The TCU is available with an optional factory-integrated synthesized radio, network interface adapter, or a standard telephone line compatible autodialer.

An integrated AC phase monitor uses True RMS to produce accurate and exact 3-phase voltage readings. The analog inputs are 12-bit for superior accuracy and resolution. An auxiliary input function as a standard discrete input or pulse counter for a tipping bucket rain gauge.

An RS-485 serial interface enables communication with industry-standard devices and VFD controllers. In addition, the unit features an RS-232 Serial Radio interface that supports both Modbus ASCII and Modbus RTU.

For ease of operator interface, the TCU incorporates a large 4x20-character LCD display and 12-button keypad. Eight LEDs surrounding the display are programmable for at-a-glace status indication.
