* Preheating Plastics for Thermoforming

- Electric Infrared with Zone Control

Casso-Solar custom designs industrial ovens and infrared heaters for the thermoforming industry. Built around Casso-Solar's FB and FBG, discrete multiple zones can be built into a single heater module. Open or closed loop feedback is available for each zone with zone sizes as small as 2" x 2" within a single heater of up to 48" x 48". Plastic materials such as ABS, PVC, Acrylic, Polycarbonate, Polyethylene, Fiberglass or carbon reinforced materials and more can be heated to forming temperatures from one side for thicknesses of up to .250" and from two sides for thicknesses greater than .250". FBG heaters are provided with a protective Ceran face for bottom heat applications. Dwell times and power consumption is greatly reduced over other methods. No reflector heaters, no maintenance with average life expectancy in excess of 25,000 hours.

Complete control systems with graphic computer operator interfaces are available to store recipes for each product and to automatically setup zone control. Product transport systems, load and unload systems are also available.

- Catalytic Gas Infrared Systems

Casso-Solar Catalytic Gas Infrared Heating systems provide the economy of lower fuel costs with natural gas or propane. Large area modular flat panel heaters provide energy from above the product. Closed loop control with larger zone sizes that with electric.

* Heat Film for Stretching and/or Annealing

- Stretching Film after the Extruder

Using Casso-Solar Unitube, Unitube II, Type C or C+ heaters, provide high energy levels within confined space limits into machine direction stretching sections of film lines. Heater banks are placed between pull roll sections. Zone control, easy access for system servicing, rapid response are all part of a Casso-Solar System. Complete SCR control systems available.

- Anneal Film - Even Multiple Layered of Dissimilar Materials

Through a proven technique, Casso-Solar can provide energy uniformly to surface layers and inner layers of multiple ply film, bringing the material to its anneal temperature and holding it at temperature with either IR or a combination IR/Convection oven.

* Plastic Welding

Custom designed heaters allow for the welding of tubular pipes together, pipes to flanges, forming flanges on the ends of pipes, product bodies to end caps, etc. Works with all plastic materials including fluorocarbons. Custom designed.

* Shrink Wrap Systems

Single station, indexing and conveyorized systems with combinations of infrared and convection, depending on part to be packaged. Custom designed.

Automotive Glass Production

Ceramic Ink Drying

Casso-Solar Ceramic Ink Drying Systems lead the industry in processing waterbase, water miscible, terpinal and pine oil based inks, leaded or lead free. Special attention is given to maximize green strength on low resin content inks, allowing for safe overprinting and handling. Cooling systems are designed to bring glass and ink temperatures to or below ambient. Dryers are compact, energy efficient with little maintenance over years of service life. Casso-Solar works closely with the ceramic ink manufacturers and maintains an extensive library on current inks used in the industry.

Windshield Bending Systems

Windshield Bending Systems for automotive O.E.M. and aftermarket bus, truck, aircraft and recreational vehicles. Single Station, Shuttle and Multi-Station Serial Benders. Production rates of 5-60 units per hour up to 72" x 120", doublets and multi-layer bullet proof glass to 2" thick. Casso-Solar Multi-zone Graphical User Computer Control for complex shapes with localized programmable 3-Axis Crease Heaters that follow the glass as it bends in the tight radius areas. Menu storage allows for easy recipe recall and the ability to process different parts within the same system allowing for short production run mixes.

Windshield Preheat and Tacking Ovens

Continuous preheat and tacking ovens to allow for proper de-airing of windshields and to tack the glass for further processing in the autoclave. Glass temperatures exiting the preheat are 110-120 deg F and exiting the tacking oven at 180-190 deg F. Medium wavelength heaters penetrate the glass to heat the PVB/glass interface. Designed for either short edge or long edge leading. Ovens also available for vacuum ring applications, batch or continuous.

Infrared Process Dryers for Paper, Film & Foil

* Preheating/Postheating Process Dryers on Paper, Film and Foil Lines

Infrared Process Dryers can be used to totally dry coatings on continuous web applications or to supplement existing systems for increased line speed, enhanced product quality, and uniformity of drying across the width of the web. Applications include drying prior to and after the size press on a paper machine; moisture profiling on a paper machine; drying coatings on wall paper, film and foil; drying saturants on filtration media; coationgs on ceiling tile and wall board; and more.

Systems are available in high intensity short wavelength, where the energy will penetrate into the coating or medium wavelength where the energy is absorbed on the coating surface. Systems can operate closed loop from the heater temperature, product temperature or through an interface with the system master PLC.

Fast response gas or electric heaters insure a safe shutdown on line stoppage and accurate tracking for machine speed.
