Haight® Pump introduces the first installment in the newest addition to the Haight® product family of Pumps That Perform. They have combined the versatile Universal Series pump design with stainless steel and corrosion resistant materials to meet the needs ever changing process systems, delivering Rugged, Reliable, and Innovative Pumps.
Principles Make The DIU (Ductile Iron Universal) Series Pump Ideal For Problem Fluids
Using the Haight's pioneering (and patented) "gear within a gear" pumping principle, there are only two moving parts; a stainless steel outer gear and a plastic inner gear engineered to match the exact application. Hydraulic balancing ensures reliability and minimizes wear.
Its distinctive operating characteristics make it ideal for use with corrosive, high temperature, thin, corrosive and other aggressive problem fluids. Typical fluids include: phosphoric acid, caustic sodas, zylene, polymers, surfactants, flocculants, carbon black, isocyanates, sodium hydroxide, glycols, wastewater and other chemicals.
Latest In Pumping Technology
Before the advent of this series, end users had to deal with galling, pump failures and unscheduled down- time. The Stainless Steel pumps in the Universal Series solve these problems with features not found in other gear pumps of this kind, including:
- No Galling – ensured by pump design and high hardness materials of construction
- Shaft Alignment - close coupling eliminates alignment and runout
- No Gearboxes – operate at standard motor speeds without the need for a gear reducer
- 316 L Stainless, low carbon steel – shaft, housing, pinion gear for better corrosion resistance and low lubricity
- Materials of Construction – for extended service life, reliability
- Reduced Pump Inventory Needs - one pump handles multiple service requirements
- Maintenance – easy service and inspection accessibility, simplified packing gland adjustments
- More – self priming, low shear, reversible flow, integral bolt-on relief valve
Other Features
Historically when a pump was ordered, it was application oriented towards a single pump configuration. With the advent of the Universal design, all pumps in the standard Haight product line are able to accept relief valves, lip seals, four types of mechanical seals or packing gland shaft seals. It is the only design on the market that allows end users to switch sealing methods on-line and in-place without the need for special tools.
Operating characteristics include:
Capacities of 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15 & 20 gpm
Lubricating Fluids to 250 psid
Non-Lubricating Fluids to 100 psid
Temperature range from -40°F to 250°F
Standard motor operating speeds of 900/1200/1800 rpm
Inlet capacity: of 20"Hg lift to 250 psi
Viscosity range from 32 SSU to 10,000 SSU
Direct end user input was a key factor in the design of the new stainless series. Customers asked for a stainless steel PD pump that had better specifications and features than similar models at competitive pricing, Haight listened. By carefully combining proprietary designs with the best possible materials, they were able to build a better pump at a lower price.

LEESON Electric introduces a new line of Stainless Steel Motors designed for long life in demanding washdown applications. The new Washguard® SST™ motors are Stainless Steel Tough to withstand the severe washdown environments found in the food processing and beverage industries.
The Washguard® SST™ motor line was developed by LEESON in response to the recent appearance in the North American market of lesser quality imported stainless steel motors claiming, "premium features without a premium price." LEESON's Washguard® SST™ motor offers features above and beyond these other motors…and at a competitive price. A detailed feature comparison is available in LEESON's Bulletin 1520.
LEESON's Washguard® SST™ Stainless Steel motors have the following features:
· 300-series stainless steel on all exterior surfaces – frames, endbells, mounting base, fan guard, hardware, conduit box and cover
· A full-fact nameplate is laser-etched into the motor frame – no nameplate rivet holes to allow leakage to the inside of the motor or Mylar nameplates to peel-off when washed down
· Oversized double-sealed bearings pre-lubricated with moisture resistant high-temperature grease
· Fully gasketed conduit box with flanged cover for extra tight sealing.
· Sealant between motor frame and endbells to exclude water
· Heavy 12-gauge base is puddle-welded to the frame
· Specially designed shaft extension resists breakage at bearing journal
· Rubber-covered shaft seal on all shaft extensions – including the fan shaft on TEFC motors
· Four quadrant drain locations in each endbell to allow effective drain positioning in any mounting position.
· Stainless steel T-drains are provided for effective drainage of condensation while preventing water entry
· Anti-corrosion coatings applied to stator and rotor
· Internal bearing lock screws
· LEESON's IRIS™ insulation system for inverter-duty operation
· UL, CSA, and CE nameplated
A full line of Washguard® SST™ motors is available from 1/3 to 2 HP and 1750 & 3450 RPM. Stock motors are available in a universal mounting configuration with NEMA C-face and mounting base or with a C-face only from over 25 stocking locations nationwide.
LEESON Electric, headquartered in Grafton, Wisconsin, offers AC motors, DC motors, sub-fractional horsepower motors and gearmotors, mechanical gear drives, and AC and DC electronic drives. LEESON products are sold to original equipment manufacturers and distributors by a network of independent manufacturers' representatives, sales offices and international agent distributors. LEESON is a subsidiary of Regal-Beloit Corporation (AMEX: RBC).

The units are capable of withstanding compression loads of as high as ten times the static loads. Typical applications include marine fans, mobile engines, generators, instrument consoles, lathes, milling machines, slotters, punch presses, etc.
Identified as the V10Z27 Series, they exhibit a natural frequency of between 14 to 22 Hz. Static load ranges for the three units are: 70 to 400 lbs.(32 to 181 kgf), 300 to 800 lbs. (136 to 363 kgf) and 600 to 1,600 lbs. (273 to 725 kgf). The free standing height of these 3-1/4" square (82.55 mm) units is 1-61/64" (49.68 mm). Under static load this compresses to a height of 1-53/64" (46.38 mm). They are mounted to the load member via a 5/8-11 tapped hole in the center of the unit. The isolator consists of 2 circular stainless steel mesh sections which slip around an interior cadmium plated steel housing and is supported by a machined casing outer housing. Operating temperatures range from -94°F to +347°F.

About AAC
At Advanced AntiVibration Components (AAC), we market products exclusively related to the elimination of vibration, energy absorption and protection of components and devices from shock and possible destruction. AAC was created as a separate division of Designatronics, Inc. because the need for such a product line has grown over the years. While our sister division, SDP, provided catalogs featuring shock and vibration damping components in the past, feedback from our engineering and marketing departments indicated the need for proper product marketing and technical information.
AAC supplies the broadest offering available from a single source related to antivibration products in our new catalog, V100. We also offer tooling for many types and sizes of cylindrical vibration mounts. There are catalogs of this nature circulated; however the uniqueness of this publication is its breadth and versatility. In addition, all the products featured are available from stock for immediate delivery.
Our staff is available between 9am and 5pm Eastern time to assist you at (516) 328-3662. We can provide price and stock status as well as advise you regarding technical inquiries.
