2D - ULTRASONIC CUTTING MACHINES

American GFM offers a complete line of ultrasonic cutting machines. Both three and six axis models are available to cut a large variety of materials. The machines are ideally suited for ultrasonic cutting carbon fiber, glass fiber, Kevlar, Prepreg and Honeycomb materials. Our ultrasonic cutting machines have the versatility to cut from multiple layers in excess of one inch thick to control depth ultrasonic cutting of a single layer. Because of superior design, AGFM ultrasonic cutting machines cut faster, more accurately and with better edge quality than any other machine available.

These machines are well suited for ultrasonic inlay cutting, ultrasonic scoring, ultrasonic core cutting or ultrasonic cutting of any type of material.

In addition, American GFM has developed a six axis ultrasonic cutting machines to facilitate contouring and beveling of complex shaped parts on honeycomb and other materials. All models use a standard American GFM Ultrasonic generator, converter, booster and horn with specially developed blades. The ultrasonic cutting blade cycles at 20,000 or 30,000 strokes per second. The model US50 permits quick automated tool changing and tool setting from standard vertical blades to disc cutters.

Activated vacuum work tables are nonmetallic but hard enough to enable the sharp edge of the blade to cut effectively. Numerous options are available to enhance productivity. Our expertise is building ultrasonic cutting machines, ultrasonic inlay cutting machines, ultrasonic core cutting machines.

Ultrasonic metal welding

Ultrasonic metal welding is sometimes called "cold welding" because it works without melting the metals. It cleans and welds at temperatures lower than the melting point of the metals. Ultrasonic metal welding most commonly joins nonferrous metals, but can also be used with other metals, such as when welding aluminum to ceramics.

Ultrasonic metal welding uses high-frequency vibrations. It works by placing the parts to be welded on the anvil.

Next, force is applied to the parts. Then the upper part is vibrated back and forth with the ultrasonic horn.

This causes the parts to rub together. The ultrasonic energy disperses oxide film layers (cleaning the surface) and results in the mixing of metal atoms, without melting the metals. The activated metal atoms join each other, causing a true metallurgical bond.

For lead on ceramic & flat cable/Cu plate welding Dukane's Model 40X Series Metal Welder

  • Welds shapes that are difficult to weld with M Series welders
  • Heavy-duty actuator supports both ends of the horn
  • 2" (50mm) diameter air cylinder
  • Electronic regulator and built-in load cell
  • Computer control and monitoring
  • 40 kHz generator provides 700 watts of power .

Ultrasonic Assembly System

Our 20/15 kHz Ultrasonic Assembly System is ideal for larger applications that require HIGH POWER. In some cases, this makes it a viable alternative to much costlier technologies, such as vibration welding. Rugged, ergonomically designed, easy to use and meeting international safety standard.

Our 20/15 KHz Press is compatible with our NEW Dukane 5000 watt 20 kHz or 4000 watt 15 kHz DPC Ultrasonic Power Supply. The press has an ultra rigid square support column with rack and pinion height adjustment and 10 degrees of radial alignment.

The generator is the DPCIV Plus with advanced features such as "Hot Keys" for faster set-up, three separate data, status and power displays and automatic tuning for repeatable welds. Plug-in modules add to the generator's versatility. The system is designed for appliance and automotive markets, which assemble larger parts that require more pressure, amplitude and power.

Aquarius Ultrasonic System

Standard Aquarius console systems are available in 3, 4 and 5 station configurations with a tank capacity of up to 60 gallons. Automated transfer of workloads up to 200 pounds is provided by a robotic arm type material handling system.

Larger capacity and custom systems with and without automation are readily configured using ATLANTIS modular components.

CRAM Technology

We are extremely proud to introduce our new line of ultrasonic technology from our Sister company Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics, called CRAM Technology. CRAM Technology is a set of generator parameters that drive an array of transducers to produce sweeping frequency sound waves that have no single frequency component. A single frequency can excite a part into a high amplitude vibration if it is at a resonance frequency of the part. This vibration can result in a fracture in the part. With the elimination of all single frequency components by CRAM, no resonant vibrations are possible.

shieldSONIK Technology

shieldSONIK is the first true, constant power, three frequency generator. When matched to our unique universal transducer, this device offers the process engineer a new degree of freedom through the ability to select cavitation event size. Since the smallest structure you can affect is determined by the minimum size of the bubble, your cleaning results are optimized when your process includes lower frequencies for removing larger particles, and higher frequencies for removing sub-mircron particles.

This new innovative technology combined with Ransohoff's quality provides you with the latest State-Of-The-Art technology and ensures the highest level of quality. Contact your Ransohoff Representative today to take advantage of this new technology. No one else has it.

HT-Series Heated Benchtop Cleaning Tanks

Blackstone~NEY Ultrasonics' standard line of heated tank ultrasonic cleaners find application in both industrial and laboratory settings - - wherever there is a need for a basic ultrasonic cleaning tank. All tanks are designed for portable, table top use or can be sunken into a countertop cutout for permanent, customized installation. Tanks are all stainless steel and come complete with a drain port and valve as well as an all stainless steel protective enclosure. Side mounted thermostatically controlled electric heaters maintain process temperatures up to 185 degrees F.

Each cleaning tank is supplied with a companion Neptune series ultrasonic generator. The generator is separate from the cleaning tank and connects to it through a co-axial cable permanently attached to the cleaning tank unit. There is a suitable plug at the generator end of the cable. Extra cable length can be purchased to allow mounting of the generator up to 100 feet from the tank location. All generators have an indicating on/off switch. Unless otherwise specified, all tanks are supplied for ultrasonic operation at 40 kHz.

Blackstone~NEY Ultrasonics has perfected an ultrasonic cleaning tank for use with isopropyl alcohol. Purged for safety, the HT-1306 IPA is designed for small parts cleaning applications in which alcohol is preferred over aqueous or solvent-based chemistries. Consult Blackstone~NEY Ultrasonics' applications experts for more information.
