V-600 Series UV/Vis Spectrophotometers

JASCO is proud to announce the release of our new V-600 Series of UV/Vis/NIR spectrophotometers. These units feature a rugged and compact design, excellent optical performance, high speed scanning, and enhanced versatility. The new V-600 series consists of five distinct models, including JASCO's V-630Bio model designed specifically for life science applications.

New features include the "IQ Accessory" function for automatic accessory recognition and the "IQ Start" function for immediate start when conducting routine measurements. In addition, two graphical user interfaces are available including a newly redesigned intelligent remote module (iRM) with a color LCD touch screen. The iRM incorporates a wide display and provides access to all functions necessary for routine applications. JASCO's own Spectra Manager II software, the latest version of the JASCO innovative cross-platform spectroscopy software, allows full system control and advanced data processing. Spectra Manager II also comes in a 21 CFR part 11 compliant version. Either option is designed to provide easy operation and the ability to perform a wide range of applications from routine to sophisticated procedures.

The V-630 is the most economical general-purpose instrument of the V-600 Series. Its excellent spectroscopic performance is suitable for advanced biochemical and clinical lab applications, as well as routine applications such as spectrum scanning, kinetics, quantitative analysis, and colorimetric tests conducted for QC and environmental analysis.

The V-650 employs a highly sensitive photomultiplier tube (PMT) detector, which enables accurate measurements of low concentration samples. The new Dark Correction feature combined with high stray light rejection provides absorbance linearity greater than four absorbance units. It can also be used with solid sample handling accessories such as an integrating sphere to collect diffuse light transmitted or reflected by a sample. The advanced optical design allows the bandwidth to be set as low as 0.1 nm for high resolution work including gas and vapor phase spectroscopy.

The V-660 is a dual monochromator model. The use of a second monochromator provides higher resolution with extremely low stray light to assure more precise measurements over a wide photometric range, especially at shorter wavelengths.

The V-670 is a UV/Vis/NIR model and employs dual detectors, a PMT for UV/Vis and a PbS unit for the NIR region. The V-670 is the ideal solution for affordable and accurate NIR analysis. The spectral wavelength range as standard is 190-2700 nm and can be expanded to 3200 nm (optional).

The V-630BIO is a special configuration dedicated to life science applications. It consists of the V-630, an intelligent Remote Module (iRM) specifically designed for bio and clinical analysis, and a micro cell holder. Built-in bio application programs include protein/nucleic acid measurement, temperature ramping/DNA melting analysis, kinetics measurement and analysis, and a protein quantitative analysis program with six different calibration methods. The 4 µL 8-position Turret Micro Cell Holder, 6/8-position Automatic Peltier Cell Changer for micro cells, and other sampling accessories are available.

UV-3600 UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has introduced the new UV-3600 UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer. The UV-3600 is equipped with three detectors: a photomultiplier tube (PMT) for the UV-Vis region, and InGaAs and PbS detectors for the NIR region. The three detectors ensure high sensitivity over the entire measurement range and help achieve the world's lowest noise level with <0.00003 Abs noise at 1500nm. A high-performance double monochromator ensures ultra-low stray light (0.00005% or less at 340nm) at high resolution. Measurement range varies from 185 to 3300nm, enabling analysis in a wide variety of applications.

Shimadzu's UV-3600 spectrophotometer has a large sample compartment and integrating sphere attachment for easy measurement of solid samples. The Absolute Specular Reflectance (ASR) attachments ensure that high-accuracy absolute reflectance measurements are possible. Additional accessories expand the range of measurement possibilities. UV Probe software enables easy data analysis and processing functions and provides enhanced security features and an audit trail.

The In-Spec® product line is constantly growing and now includes standards to check not just photometric accuracy but also wavelength, stray light, and resolu-tion for a variety of instrumentation in-cluding the increasingly popular short pathlength / small sample instruments.

By using a NIST-traceable standard you can verify that an instrument is in fact performing as it should. This provides validity to the data that is collected with the instrument.

Many of the solutions that are available are either very costly, toxic, or not flexible and can't meet your exact specifications. GFS Chemicals however has the ability with its In-Spec® Standards to find a solution that will better fit your requirements.
