Standard Features & Advantages:

  • ASME / BPE-2002
    • Designed specifically for the demanding process requirements found in the pharmaceutical, biotech, cosmetic, food and other industries where aseptic conditions are required.

  • 5% or Less Ferrite Content
    • Content of less than 5% to prevent rouging. Less than 1% ferrite available as an option. (BPE 2002)

  • Low Sulphur
    • All welded end parts made from 316L stainless steel supplied with sulphur content of 0.005 - 0.017% assuring the integrity of the orbital welding. (BPE 2002)

  • All Wetted Parts Polish To 14-18 Ra, 240 Grit
    • Significantly reduces friction between valve and media. Crevice-free smooth surface helps eliminate areas where contaminants can proliferate. (BPE 2002)

  • FDA Compliant Material Hygenic Seating Design
    • TFM® seat provides a bubble-tight bidirectional shut off. Encapsulated PTFE body seal eliminates entrapment area between valve body and valve-end. Optional TFE or TFM cavity fillers eliminate the dead space between the ball and valve body. (BPE 2002)

  • Extended Butt Weld Ends
    • Meets table DT-4 minimal length for automatic welding. (BPE 2002)

  • Tube Full Port Design (TFP)
    • Tube full-port maintains unrestricted flow of media.

  • 3-Piece Design
    • In-line serviceable swing out center section allows easy access to internal valve components without disturbing alignment of tubing. Functions as both valve and union.

  • Integral Mounting Pad
    • Actuation centering lip feature assures precise alignment of bracket, stem and coupler. Actuators may be retrofit on existing 88 Series valves without disruption of line integrity. Allows for secondary containment unit to be added when required.

  • Lockable Handle
    • All Sharpe Series 88 Valves meet OSHA standards with locking device. Prevents valves from being opened or closed accidentally.

  • Variety of Aseptic End Connections
    • Standard ends are Tri Clamp® (CE) or buttweld end extensions (BTE) for orbital welders. Optional end connections for Flush Bottom tank pads, socket weld tube, short buttweld, buttweld tube of Cherry Burrell I, S, Q line, and KF.

  • High Cycle Stem Design
    • Live loaded, bottom entry, blowout proof anti-static stem features packing that extends valve cycle life over conventional ball valves and is the best choice for actuation.

  • Encapsulated Body Bolts
    • Heavy duty stainless steel bolting is protected from outside environment and is ideal for washdowns.

  • Traceability
    • Heat numbers are provided for all wetted parts, body, stem, ball, and ends. CMTR's (Certified Mill Test Reports).

  • Handles
    • Variety of options including oval, extended, spring return, fusible link.

  • Big Knife™ valves - a development to bridge the gap between the typical knife-gate valves, which are often called throwaway valves with all their many technical disadvantages, and the more expen­sive Stargate-O-Port valves, with some of the advantages of the O-port valves.
  • Stargate O-Port™valves, ball valve replacement - The main characteristic of this type of valve, also called slide-gate valve or through-port valve is the well-guided blade passing through both ends of the valve body, having a hole in the middle of the blade.
  • Big Screen™, Automatic Screen Changer - This is a screen, which can be replaced without stopping production just pressing a button. The actuator moves the screens, bringing the one, which is to be exchanged, outside the screen body and at the same time the clean one into the flow area.
  • Blow valves - High Pressure Blow Valve - Big Blow™ - Designed for solid performance, special resistance to high pressure shock waves in excess of 10,000 psi. Excellent performance with an absolute minimum of maintenance. This valve is built rugged enough to withstand almost any problem related to the batch pulp digesters.
  • Side-mounted Actuator Valves for high pressures - This high pressure valve as a cylinder mounted on the side of the valve body acting on the blade via a cross bar. The O-Port design makes it possible to have perfect actuation with this design.
  • The AntiScale Valve for Sticky Powders, Anti-Scale - In power generation, mining, food industry and pulp manufacturing there are valve applications where the standard valves used do not function satisfactorily. When scale is formed on the moving elements of ball valves or gate valves the consequence is either blocking of the valve movement or damage to the valve seats and consequent leaking through the valves.
  • 4" 1500# Valve, Side Mounted Actuator, anti-scale - SVC has developed special valves, based on the well known Stargate-O-Port® valves, for scale-forming or sticky materials.
  • Diverter Valves - The actuation of the valve with the pump running is possible because at no stage are both of the outlet ports closed switching between the ports. There is, however, a possibility to have a third position of the blade outside the orifices, which then closes the valve completely.
