Wire Mesh and Wire Cloth

Argus Steel is a full service supplier of Wire Fabric and Wire Cloth. Also known as woven wire, woven wire mesh, wire mesh, welded wire mesh, wire mesh screens or filter cloth. The standard grades of woven wire fabric are market grade, mill grade and tensile bolting cloth. These products are designated by mesh count/inch, wire diameter and metal. Market grades are the most common specifications, mill grades feature lighter diameter wires and larger % of open areas and tensile bolting cloths the lightest wires and the largest % of open areas. These products are generally used for industrial filtering, straining and sizing although woven wire has many other uses such as woven wire grill mesh and fire screen mesh. While the majority of inventory is T304 and T316 stainless steel wire mesh, Argus Steel also stocks other metals including aluminum wire mesh cloth, brass, & bronze wire mesh and copper wire mesh Exotic metals such as titanium wire mesh and high temperature alloys such as Inconel and Nichrome are also available. Space cloth is another grade of woven wire, designated by opening and wire diameter. This product is available in different types of weaves including lock crimp and intermediate crimp as well as most metals.

Custom fabrication of square and diamond meshes for wire mesh partitions, fill panels, wire mesh railings, window guards and other architectural woven wire products are also in Argus Steel's product line.

Hardware cloth is another very popular item. They stock a full line of galvanized hardware cloth in addition to stainless steel. Vinyl coated hardware cloth, woven wire fencing and chicken wire mesh or hex netting, rat wire, bird screen and crab pot wire are also available.

From the finest mesh to the heaviest woven product, Argus Steel is proud of having one of the largest inventories in the southeast. They offer same day service on these items. In addition to their standard square mesh, they carry space cloth, useful when you have a requirement for a screen with a precise opening. They also offer finished screens in stainless, galvanized, high carbon and oil tempered wire, with any style hook strips.

Why go to the O.E.M. and pay more for your screens? Argus Steel offers cut-to-size, high tensile stainless for institutional detention; woven diamond or square mesh security screens clinched into channel frames, custom made for your industrial or commercial applications. Both light duty hardware cloth, galvanized after welding, for agricultural uses and heavy duty galvanized for military and industrial uses.

In stainless or carbon steel - custom welded to your requirements, when a woven product will not suffice. Great prices on quality materials - you benefit from Argus Steel's volume buying power.

Wire Mesh OverScreens

Newark Wire Cloth's Wire Mesh OverScreens are ideal replacement parts for the industry standard inline strainer overscreens. Newark's Wire Mesh OverScreens are quality crafted. The longitudinal seam is continuously welded using a welding mandrel to ensure a consistent diameter for the full length of the cylinder, insuring a snug fit over the perforated support core. Newark Wire Cloth's standard construction calls for the cylinder ends to be hemmed and the hem is then tack welded in place. This secures the raw edge wire of the wire cloth so it can't break loose and cause problems downstream. Pure Tin Soldered cylinder ends are available as an option. Different size wire mesh is available upon request. All material is 316L Stainless Steel.

Woven Wire Mesh Belts by Cambridge International

In food processing, these belts are used in washing, baking, dewatering, blanching, cooking, freezing , pasteurizing and depalleting. In glass and ceramics, this construction finds wide use in firing, decorating, enameling and annealing, and for curing fiberglass. In electronics, we find glass-to-metal sealing, thick film firing, and drying of printed circuit boards. In metalworking, the range is from general conveying to heat-treating, quenching, calcining, annealing and related processes.

MATERIALS:

One of the factors that make metal mesh belt adaptable to so many applications is that it is available in many different materials. From sub-zero to 2200°F, whatever the corrosive conditions may be, metal mesh belts may be woven of virtually all wrought alloys that can be drawn into wire form.

SELVAGES:

The standard edging for frictionally driven metal mesh belts is the welded selvage. For applications or belt constructions where weld are not desirable, a knuckled selvage may be used. A variation of the knuckled selvage, which provides a smooth outer edge as well as strength, is the ladder selvage. Other selvages can be produced to suit application needs.

TYPICAL HIGH TEMPERATURE PROCESSES

  • Sintering
  • Brazing
  • Annealing
  • Firing
  • Fusing/Sealing
  • Carburizing
  • Glazing
  • Decorating
  • Normalizing
  • Hardening
  • Catalyst and filtration media recovery

BELTS FOR ELEVATED TEMPERATURE:

Cambridge elevated temperature conveyor belts are truly special members of the metal belt family. Grueling application environments put these belts to the maximum test. These applications require the utmost in product design engineering of each weave in order to give you the most operational benefits and extended belt life.

LEHR BELTS

Cambridge lehr belts have long been the choice of original equipment manufacturers. And, lehr operators have made Cambridge the choice for replacement belts. Their records show better performance for Cambridge belts. Performance is the proof of Cambridge's superior design and construction.

DIACRIMP CONSTRUCTION

Cambridge's DiaCrimp construction makes our woven wire metal mesh belt the nearest thing yet to a universal belt. With its flat, thin spirals that deliver 25% more carrying surface than other flattened wire belts, a DiaCrimp belt is ideal for virtually any loose or containerized product. These belts can handle on-belt processing of light and heavy loads, wet or dry, caustic or acid, from -100°F to +2200°F.

Why Cambridge?

  • Competitive prices
  • Unparalleled METAL BELT expertise
  • Broadest product range in the industry
  • Fast transactions & friendly service

SKS OverScreens

Newark's exclusive SKS OverScreens™ are comparable to the traditional Wire Mesh OverScreens. They are available with similar opening sizes and open area percentages as wire cloth, but the materials of construction are very different. In many ways the SKS OverScreen™ material is superior to wire cloth. The material used to make the SKS OverScreens™ is punched from stainless steel sheet; it is not made up of individual wires like wire cloth. Since the SKS OverScreen™ material is not a woven product (made up of individual wires) it has no potential contamination zones or areas where the wires contact each other and make the traditional Wire Mesh OverScreen more difficult to clean thoroughly. The design of the material used to fabricate SKS OverScreen™ makes the SKS OverScreen™ easier to clean! SKS OverScreens™ are quality crafted the same as Newark's Wire Mesh OverScreens. The longitudinal seam is continuously welded using a welding mandrel to ensure a consistent diameter for the full length of the SKS OverScreen™ cylinder. The SKS OverScreen™ cylinder ends are hemmed to provide a smooth, finished edge for the strainer element. All material is 316L Stainless Steel.
