WATERLOO, Ont. -- The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), New Opportunities Fund, has awarded grants to three research projects involving five newly recruited faculty members at the University of Waterloo. The awards were given to Prof. Brendan McConkey, Biology, $118,000; Prof. Vladimir Bantseev, Optometry, $303,291; and Profs. Michael Collins, Mechanical Engineering, Michael Fowler and Leonardo Simon, both Chemical Engineering, $152,288.
