Monitoring Run Off in Forest Catchment Areas
From computeraidedsolutions.com

To monitor the effects of timber logging on water run off in remote areas. Local streams must be monitored and water samples taken whenever the stream level is rising.

The dataTaker DT50 records stream parameters such as stream height, pH, turbidity and water temperature. Whenever stream height rises rapidly following a rainfall event in the catchment area, the data logger activates water sampling equipment to collect stream samples for sediments, nutrient and chemical analysis.

Field staff visit the remote sites every three weeks to collect the water samples and data. The data is collected by simply removing a Memory Card from the data logger. The Memory Card stores all data collected during the period, which can be read directly into a computer back at headquarters.

Products & Services
Groundwater monitoring equipment includes pumps and other instruments that tap into the water table for water quality assessment, testing for pollutants, and the identification of other compounds.
Remote terminal units (RTUs) connect directly to sensors, meters, dataloggers or process plants, and collect and transmit data automatically.
Bladder pumps consist of a flexible, squeezable bladder encased in a rigid outer casing. They are low-flow pneumatic devices used for sampling applications.
Video processor boards are used to process video, medical imaging, automated optical inspection, and other related activities. They can be fitted with between one and a thousand digital signal processing (DSP) units in order to increase the computing power of the board.
Microscopy and metallography sample preparation equipment is used for the preparation of samples for metallographic or microscopic inspection and analysis.
