Partners to build Singapore fab Philips Semiconductors and TSMC have teamed up with a governmental investment board to construct a $1.2-billion wafer fab in Singapore. Work on the facility is scheduled to begin early this year, with a start-up date set for the second half of 2000. The fab will reach full production capacity in 2003, TSMC says. The facility will house a 23,100-sq-ft cleanroom for making logic chips with linewidths 0.25 µm.

Products & Services
FLASH Memory Chips
FLASH memory chips offer extremely fast access times, low power consumption, and relative immunity to severe shock or vibration. They do not need a constant power supply to retain their data.
DRAM and SDRAM Memory Chips
Dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips are single-transistor memory cells that use small capacitors to store each bit of memory in an addressable format that consists of rows and columns. Because capacitors are unable to hold a charge indefinitely, DRAM memory chips require a near-constant pulse of current to retain stored information.
Photolithography Services
Photolithography services create photomasks and use them to etch or engrave patterns on semiconductor substrates.
Certification Services
Certification services include companies that test, inspect, register and/or certify products, components, equipment, instruments, processes, management systems or facilities.
