AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES AMENDING THE AIR TRANSPORT AGREEEMEN TOF AUGUST 15, 1960, AS AMENDED AND EXTENDED

The Government of the United States of America and the Government of the United Mexican States,

Considering that our countries are neighbors and have friendly and cooperative relationship of long standing;

Desiring to strengthen the economic, social and cultural bonds between our people;

Recognizing the increasing importance of international air travel between our nations and throughout the continent, and desiring to ensure the strengthening of our relationship for the common benefit;

Have accordingly agreed to amend the Air Transport Agreement of August 15, 1960 between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the United Mexican States, as amended and extended (hereinafter, "the Agreement"), as follows:

1.Article 16 of the Agreement shall be amended to read as follows:

Article 16

Each Party may at any time notify the other of its intention to terminate the present Agreement in writing through diplomatic channels. Such notice shall be sent simultaneously to the International Civil Aviation Organization. This Agreement shall terminate one year after the date on which the notice of termination is received by the other Party, unless the notice is withdrawn before the end of this period by agreement between the Parties.
