This customer is involved in nuclear ion testing. The pulse amplitudes of nuclear ions from a detector must be measured and sorted into a histogram, which will show the number of times a given amplitude was received. The customer wants a "multi-channel analyzer" capable of analyzing 4,000 to 8,000 "channels." In the customer's terminology, "channels" are actually histogram bins. The customer has pulses coming in at 20 - 30 m S minimum interval and needs to peak detect (calculate the maximum value of the pulse). Then, based on peak height, each is stored in a histogram bin (basically, add 1 to each bin if it lands there). Each pulse is 2 m S maximum width. Products & Services
High performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) detectors pass a beam of light through a column effluent as the fluid passes through a low-volume flow cell. Variations in light intensity are recorded and a chromatograph is generated.
Mass spectrometers separate ions by their mass-to-charge (m/z) ratios. They are used to identify compounds by the mass of one or more elements in the compound. They are also used to determine the isotopic composition of one or more elements in a compound.
Flow cytometers use laser beams to characterize single cells as they pass by at high speed.
Ion exchange equipment is used to adjust the ionic content of water.
High performance liquid chromatographs (HPLC) use a liquid mobile phase to separate the components of a mixture. The components are dissolved in a solvent and forced to flow through a chromatographic column under high pressure.
