The FMC Technologies Self Guided Vehicle System provides a Solution to material handling
control and reduction of material damage. Three FMCTI Reach Laser Guided vehicles automatically handle pallets between: 2 conveyors with stacks of empty pallets, 2 lanes of interlayer pallets, 4 palletizers, and 1 stretch wrapper.
Calls for SGV pickup are generated by the palletizer, one signal per pallet type. This plant has four palletizers, each palletizer has two empty pallet input conveyors. There are three types of empty pallets used at Kraft Food, FMCTI supplies three conveyors that are manually loaded by lift trucks with stacks of
empty pallets. Stacks of empty pallets are then
conveyed to an output position where they can be collected by the SGV.
