From GFS Chemicals, Inc.
It was in the late 1800’s that Blau discovered the red and blue colors that ferrous and ferric salts form with the organic bases phenanthroline and 2,2'-bipyridine. This behavior was reinvestigated in 1931 by Walden, Hammett and Chapman; they found that the ferric-ferrous (blue-red) system, being reversible in nature, constituted a sensitive, high-potential oxidation-reduction indicator. Somewhat later, H.H. Willard and G. Frederick Smith, practically simultaneously, utilized the formation of the red color of ferrous iron with 1,10-phenanthroline for the colorimetric determination of iron. This method has proved so satisfactory that it remains the primary method for colorimetric determination of iron. Products & Services
Metal balls and spherical shapes are used as check or ball valves, bearings, or other applications. Metal bearing balls are precision ground for ball bearings or other motion systems.
Cobalt and cobalt alloys are non-ferrous metals with high strength and toughness, excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance, and high temperature strength.
Metal sheet is metal or alloy stock supplied or available in the form of sheet or foil. Metal sheet has a thickness between 0.006" and 0.250", and is 24" (609.6 mm) or more in width.
Metal rod and bar stock are metals and alloys in the form of round bars or rod, square bars, rectangular or flat bars, hexagons, and other bar stock shapes.
Industrial dyes are colorants consisting of single molecules that are able to absorb certain parts of the spectrum of visible light and reflect others. Dyes are soluble in the material in which they are dispersed.
