From Laser Reproductions
Laser Reproductions brought Autotelematic Spider Bots to life for creator Ken Rinaldo, associate professor of art at The Ohio State University. Rinaldo retained Laser Reproductions in November 2005 to manufacture the Spider Bots and make his vision of three years a reality. Within five months, 10 six-legged, robotic spiders measuring two by 1.5 feet were complete. Using DSM Somos® stereolithography (SLA) plastics made of flexible liquid resins, Laser Reproductions was able to produce the intricate, light-weight components that make up the body, legs and leg joints of the Spider Bots. Products & Services
Rapid prototyping equipment produces a three-dimensional (3D) paper, plastic, wax, ceramic or metal prototype or pattern.
Dye lasers use a dye solution as an active medium. Their output is a short pulse of broad spectrum content with a high achievable gain.
Robotic end effectors are quick-change mobile robotic systems that can deploy tools.
Stands and supports are used to hold a piece of equipment at an elevated position. This product area represents a large range of products - from heavy-duty industrial jack stands to light-weight, easily-adjustable camera and speaker stands.
Rapid prototyping automates the fabrication of a prototype part from a three-dimensional (3-D) CAD drawing. These physical models convey more complete information about the product earlier in the development cycle.
