BMPs: The Key to Stormwater Permitting

In response to growing concerns over polluted waterways, the Clean Water Act (CWA) was established in 1972. This Act provides the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with the authority to establish limits on the amount of pollutants entering US waterways, significantly improving water quality in many of the nation's waters. It also gives EPA the authority to enforce these regulations and levy fines for non-compliance.
