To extend its service to members and ensure more productive processes, the 'Bibliotheek Waterland' modernised its central office in Purmerend five years ago, doubling its capacity to four floors and thirty-five staff. In a new departure for Waterland's network of thirteen libraries, it also introduced a sophisticated RFID-based sorting system.
