Co2 lasers are an excellent method of laser marking and laser etching glass. They continue to replace inkjet and sandblast equipment in many glass-marking applications including automotive side glass, residential/commercial window glass, microscope slides, corporate logos, 1D and 2D codes, cathode ray tubes, light bulbs, glass bottles and even decorative artwork. As manufacturers of glass products continue to learn about the ease of use and cost savings that result when replacing labeling, etching, or blasting operations with CO2 laser marking, they are finding more and more products to mark, label and even decorate.

The SBM 1200M laser cutting and laser engraving machine comes equipped with Co2 laser combining flying optics with a precision Direct Drive motion system. Providing highly accurate laser cutting, welding, engraving and marking capabilities for multiple materials, the SBM 1200M is ideal for glass applications.

The SBM 1200M features:

Sealed CO2 laser from 50 to 500 watt
Ease of installation allows for quick startup and material processingHandles continuous roll and standard sheet size stock
Ideal for small machine shops and sheet metal fabricators
Extra-large aperture on the beam benders and focusing optics allows connections of up to 1,500 CW or 3,000w pulsed lasers
Forced air cooling of the beam benders & focusing optics for stability
For metal applications our systems are equipped with 45 degree polarization optics to ensure high-quality, even cutting in both directions.
The images in this application feature glass pieces that have been laser marked. The tiger, butterfly and grapes were marked using Laser Photonics' SBM 1200M Co2 laser cutting and engraving machine.
