The initial plan
was for a sculpture combining bronze birds with
approximately 80 multi-colored glass flowers. We
looked at the construction company's specs and were
moving forward on the design when I realized that,
because the sculpture would be in a public area, I
wouldn't be able to use glass for safety reasons. We
considered the possibility of using tempered glass,
but that is only available in plate form and couldn't be
shaped the way I wanted.
