Do you want to skip the housing? If yes then frameless motors may be right for you. A frameless motor is a stator assembly and rotor assembly. There are no bearings, housing, end bells, and most times shafts. The rotor assembly is either a magnet hub assembly (if brushless DC motors are needed) or a rotor casting (in AC motor is required.) Operationally a frameless motor and traditional housed motor are the same. Rotor assemblies without shafts allow the end user to have a single shaft system. This direct drive improves dynamic response by providing higher dynamic stiffness because of shaft attachment elimination.

Frameless motors can achieve savings in both weight and space compared to a housed motor. The design flexibility of frameless motors is also greater. Other benefits would be:
* Cost Savings
* Smaller volume
* Better dynamic response
* Better reliability

Basically frameless motors are the ideal solution for any design that requires high performance in small spaces.

ARC Systems offers high performance stator and rotor components. Designed with high energy magnetic laminations and class H insulation, these components exceed the most rigid performance requirements.

For BLDC (Brushless DC) motors, ARC offers Hall Effect sensors to be an integral part of the stator assembly. All laminations are stacked using precision stacking tools. Stator stacks can be skewed to reduce cogging. Both stack outer and inner diameters are machined to .0002" tolerance.

All stator assemblies made by ARC Systems are hand inserted to obtain the maximum slot fill for the best output power to size ratio. Vacuum impregnation and potting of coil heads are available.

Rare earth magnets are used for brushless dc motors. These type magnets provide high flux in smaller package. Sleeves over magnets are used for high speed motors to ensure magnet retention at any speed and environmental conditions.

For AC motors, the rotors assemblies are manufactured with squirrel cage rotors utilizing either molten aluminum or copper alloy bars. ARC's rotors are skewed using highly designed stacking tools and skew fixtures. Different rotor bar and end ring materials can be utilized for special performance requirements.

The selection of a particular frame size is dependent on the application requirements for volume, power output, voltage and current availability.

ARC Systems, Inc. has many different frame sizes available to respond immediately to customer's demands for a stator rotor kit to be an integral part of their application. We can provide product built to existing drawings or we can custom design product to you specifications. Please contact ARC's application engineers for assistance in selecting the proper frame size for your application.

Products & Services
AC Motors
AC motors include single, multiphase, universal, induction, synchronous, and gear motors. They also include servomotors.
Brushless Motors
Brushless motors are synchronous electric motors that have a magnetically (AC induction) or electronically (DC) controlled commutation system instead of a brush-based mechanical commutation system.
DC Motors
DC motors are most commonly used in variable speed and torque applications. They include brushless and gear motors, as well as servomotors.
DC Servomotors
DC servomotors are generally small and powerful for their size, and easy to control. Common types of DC servomotors include brushless or gear motors.
