Accessible emission level: The magnitude of accessible laser (or collateral) radiation of a specific wavelength or emission duration at a particular point. Also means radiation to which human access is possible in accordance with the definitions of the laser's hazard classification. Accessible emission limit (AEL): The maximum accessible emission level permitted within a particular class of lasers. In ANSI Z-136.1, AEL is determined as the product of Accessible Emission Level Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) limit and the area of the limiting aperture (7mm for visible and near infrared lasers). Products & Services
Lasers are devices that produce intense beams of monochromatic, coherent radiation. The word “laser” is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
Diode lasers use light-emitting diodes to produce stimulated emissions in the form of coherent light output. They are also known as laser diodes.
Excimer lasers are rare-gas halide or rare-gas metal vapor lasers that produce relatively wide beams of ultraviolet laser light. They operate via the electronic transitions of molecules.
Laser mounts are devices that keep a laser in position on a optical table.
Helium neon (HeNe) lasers have an emission that is determined by neon atoms by virtue of a resonant transfer of excitation of helium. They operate continuously in the red, infrared and far-infrared regions and emit highly monochromatic radiation.

Driving diode lasers loses much of its mystery if you observe a few simple rules based on their properties. Below its threshold current, a diode laser emits LED light with spontaneous emission only.

When the laser medium is a solid crystal, the laser is known as a solid state laser. One of the differences between welding and marking solid state lasers, is the use of a Q-switch in marking lasers.
