Save and Recall the Project
When you close Encore or a project, a Save Project prompt opens. However, Encore does not use timed backups. In the case of a power failure or computer crash, all unsaved work will be lost. So during the course of a project, it is important to save often.

| Note | Saving to the desktop is a convenient place to save the project files, but it is best to create a new folder on the desktop and save into that folder. This is because Encore creates two file folders and a project preferences file, in addition to the main project file. Creating a separate folder will help reduce clutter on the desktop and prevent accidental deletion. |
To save a project for the first time:
Go to File>Save As.
Or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-Shift-S.
This opens the Save As dialog.
All projects are saved as Untitled-1,-2, and so on by default.
Choose a desired file location.
Type the name of the project in the File Name field.
Click Save.

After a project has been saved, Encore allows two options for saving: Save and Save As.
To save a project:
Go to File>Save
Or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-S.
Choosing Save updates the previously saved file without prompting for a file name.
To save a project under a new file name:
Go to File>Save As.

Type a new file name for the project.
Click Save.
Choosing Save As opens the Save As dialog. Saving under a new file...
