Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) is an analytical technique which measures the modulus (stiffness) and damping (energy dissipation) properties of materials as those materials are deformed under periodic (oscillatory) stress. Several components are are critical to the design and performance of calorimeters and thermal analyzers that use dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). These components are the drive motor, which supplies the sinusoidal deformation force to the sample material; the drive shaft support and guidance system, which transfer the force from the drive motor to clamps that hold the sample; the displacement sensor, which measures the sample deformation (oscillation amplitude) that occurs under the applied force; the temperature control system (furnace); and the sample clamps. Products & Services
Calorimeters and thermal analyzers contain a heat source that can deliver a heat flux, at a distinct temperature, into a sample, and a temperature-measuring device that can read the resultant change in temperature.
Shakers and shock and vibration testing equipment are force generators or transducers that provide a vibration, shock or modal excitation source for testing and analysis.
Extensometers are used to indicate the deformation of material while it is subjected to stress.
Property testers are used to determine various physical properties of samples, including distillation, vapor pressure, and cloud, flash, freezing, melting, or pour point.
Specialty shock and vibration control products are specialty or proprietary products and accessories related to shock and vibration absorption.
