| Marks the begining and end of an anchor. Anchors are used to implement internal hyperlinks within the current web page, as well as hyperlinks to other web pages elsewhere. | |

| Delimits the body of the document. The body contains the body text, as well as various tags. |
| | Forces a line break in the text. |
| | Marks text to be centered on the page. |

| Delimits a group of HTML tags that prompts for and processes user input. |
| | Marks the inclusion of an image, usually a GIF file. Also optionally provides alternate text that can be displayed for the web browser, when the image is not visible. |
