Active Magnetic Bearings (AMB)

Active magnetic bearings (AMB) require a specialized control and software. The control system creates the possibility of recording bearing forces and rotor displacements that can be used to monitor process parameters. This information can be used to adjust and optimize performance due to process changes. Active magnetic bearings have higher stiffness and damping characteristics than similar size passive bearings. The control current for active magnetic bearings can be calculated by taking the square of the rotor-stator gap.

Products & Services
Magnetic bearings use an electromagnet to provide noncontacting, friction-free motion in rotary applications. Search by Specification | Learn more about Magnetic Bearings
Specialty thyristors are specialty or proprietary products and accessories related to thyristors. Learn more about Specialty Thyristors
Thyristors are a class of four-layer (PNPN) semiconductor devices that act as switches, rectifiers, or voltage regulators. Search by Specification | Learn more about Thyristors
Quadracs are a special type of thyristor which combines a diac and a triac in a single package. The diac is the triggering device for the triac. Search by Specification | Learn more about Quadracs
Diacs are bi-directional diodes that switch AC voltages and trigger silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs) and triacs. Except for a small leakage current, diacs do not conduct until the breakover voltage is reached. Search by Specification | Learn more about Diacs
