Active magnetic bearings (AMB) require a specialized control and software. The control system creates the possibility of recording bearing forces and rotor displacements that can be used to monitor process parameters. This information can be used to adjust and optimize performance due to process changes. Active magnetic bearings have higher stiffness and damping characteristics than similar size passive bearings. The control current for active magnetic bearings can be calculated by taking the square of the rotor-stator gap. Products & Services
Magnetic bearings use an electromagnet to provide noncontacting, friction-free motion in rotary applications.

Diacs are bi-directional diodes that switch AC voltages and trigger silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs) and triacs. Except for a small leakage current, diacs do not conduct until the breakover voltage is reached.
