Sapphire Viewport Transmission Curve
From MDC Vacuum Products LLC

Sapphire is a synthetic, hexagonal single crystal anisotropic material which displays substantially different physical, thermal, dielectric and optical characteristics when measured along different axes. MDC sapphire viewports are constructed using 90° crystal orientation, where the crystal orientation is parallel to a window’s surface. Viewports with crystal orientation parallel to the

Products & Services
Sapphire materials and components consist of a single-crystal, ceramic form of aluminum oxide. They have superior hardness, mechanical and optical properties, and are used in jewel bearings, lasing rods, wear parts, wafer substrates and optics.
Vacuum viewports and access doors are components for viewing, accessing or transferring samples or process devices in a vacuum chamber or system.
Linear polarizers transmit light waves along one axis and absorb them along the other. The transmitting and absorbing axes of linear polarization are oriented at 90 degrees to each other.
Optical crystals are transparent in different spectral regions, depending upon the crystal material.
Ceramic balls are rolling, spherical elements that are used in check and ball valves, bearings, and other mechanical devices that provide rotary or linear motion. They can provide higher stiffness, lower thermal expansion, lighter weight, increased corrosion resistance, and higher electrical resistance than comparable steel products.
