From Cambridge Viscosity by PAC

Cambridge Viscosity Announces ViscoDense
The new ViscoDense® is a breakthrough 3-in-1 instrument providing instantaneous in-line measurement of viscosity, density, and temperature in one single device. This device capitalizes on Cambridge's patented driven-piston technology for measuring as well as keeping the sensor clean and coating-free, virtually eliminating the need to re-calibrate the sensor in normal in-process use. Cambridge's ViscoDense capability is available in a variety of small, rugged sensor configurations to meet a wide variety of in-process needs. Each measurement is traceable to NIST and avoids the pitfalls of inferred values or the insertion of multiple probes.

Most flow measurements are made by meters that are installed in-line such that all of the fluid passes through the meter body. Insertion (sampling) flow measurement is a different technique because...

Viscosity is the internal resistance of a fluid to flow. Water has low viscosity, while syrup has high viscosity. When syrup is cold it is very much more viscous than when it is hot. Viscosity is...

Embedded viscometers using acoustic-wave-sensing technology give early warnings of oil degradation and contamination in diesel engines that could lead to premature engine failure. The acoustic-wave...

INTRODUCTION Viscosity is a measure of a fluid's inherent resistance to flow. Fluid viscosity is very sensitive to changes of temperature; therefore, in this experiment, the viscosities of fluids...

For example, new versions of Coriolis mass flowmeters now claim the ability to measure two-phase flows and to measure viscosity directly. Ultrasonic flowmeters, which now include multiple paths to...
