The Basic Principle Of Ultrasonic Assembly

From Dukane Intelligent Assembly Solutions

Ultrasonic plastics assembly is the joining or reforming of thermoplastics through the use of heat generated from high-frequency mechanical motion. It is accomplished by converting high-frequency electrical energy into high-frequency mechanical motion. That mechanical motion, along with applied force, creates frictional heat at the plastic components' mating surfaces (joint area) so the plastic material will melt and form a molecular bond between the parts. The following drawings illustrate the basic principle of ultrasonic assembly...

Products & Services
Plastic welders consist of torches, ultrasonic welding equipment, heat guns, hot rod welders, RF or dielectric welders, and hot plate welders used to join thermoplastic materials. Search by Specification | Learn more about Plastic Welders
Ultrasonic horns and ultrasonic boosters are used with ultrasonic transducers and converters. Boosters or velocity transformers amplify ultrasonic vibrations. Ultrasonic horns, sonotrodes, anvils, blades or probes contact and transmit ultrasonic vibration. Learn more about Ultrasonic Horns and Boosters
Welding accessories includes products used in, or related to, processes such as MIG, TIG and resistance. Search by Specification | Learn more about Welding Accessories
Welders and welding machines include all manner of devices used for welding, brazing and soldering. Search by Specification | Learn more about Welding, Brazing and Soldering Equipment
