Winning E-Learning Proposals: The Art of Development and Delivery

The body of the proposal should be easy to read, allowing the client to quickly move from section to section. Excessive detail slows the reader, causes confusion, and dilutes your point. On the other hand, detailed explanations of certain information could be essential to your winning the e-learning business. Often detailed information is necessary to support your capture strategy and verify your services. To balance the need for detail with the need for an easy-to-read document, detailed information should be placed at the end of your proposal in an Appendix.
This section of the proposal is a "catchall" for any miscellaneous details required for support of your solution. The appendix is where you can provide details about ROI information, project timeline breakdown, hardware or software specifications, corporate policies, press releases, storyboards, or sample screen captures. This is where you place the intricate details of your solution.
In addition, the appendix should support your capture strategy. If you are emphasizing quality, include copies of your quality control forms. If you are emphasizing innovation, include a list of innovation awards. If you are highlighting partnerships with other vendors, include supporting letters.
While a variety of material can be contained within an appendix, typically it includes one or more of the following items: resumes of the project team, letters of recommendation from satisfied customers, letters of support from partners, quality control forms, corporate brochures, and other material to support your solution.
