Soaps

From Blackmer

Each time you wash your hands with a bar of soap or put laundry detergent into a washing machine it is possible that Blackmer pumps were used at some point in the manufacturing process. Soaps are basically water-soluble products consisting of an alkali and fatty acids typically produced from animal fats or vegetable oils. You may also find perfumes and dyes as well as other byproducts. MLX4 pumps are widely used for unloading fatty acids from transport vehicles such as railcars. NP and SNP Series pumps are used to transfer or process the fatty acids, alkalines, glycerin and sulfuric acid. Due to the potential abrasiveness of waste fats, the XL Series pumps have been successfully applied. Major producers of soaps and detergents have stated that the superior performance, the extended service life, ease of maintenance and excellent distributor support has resulted in replacing many competitive pumps. Blackmer pumps are well suited for a wide variety of applications in the soap and detergent industry due to our ability to handle various flow rates, pressures and viscosities in both iron and stainless steel construction.
