Sudden death due to cardiac arrest takes about 225,000 lives every year in the USA (1). Because Ischemic disease is a leading cause of cardiac arrest, cardiologists are interested in its diagnosis and treatment. Coronary bypass operations represent the most effective method of treatment of ischemic heart disease (2). According to the data published by the American Heart Association (www.americanheart.org), more then 400 operations per 1 million of population are performed annually to prevent further complications of ischemic disease – repetitive ischemia, myocardial infarction or rhythm disturbances. In many cases the sudden death is caused by myocardial ischemia accompanied by ventricular arrhythmias. The mechanisms underlying the initiation and maintenance of these potentially lethal arrhythmias are of great interest for clinicians and scientists. In regional myocardial ischemia very large macroscopic heterogeneities occur naturally (3). In genesis of ventricular arrhythmia a very important role is played by the borderline zone between normal and ischemic myocardium. Zaitsev et al(4) find a significant local increase in wave break incidence within an 8-mm strip of myocardium along the ischemic border. The authors conclude that the border zone significantly modulates the spatial distribution of wave breaks during ischemic ventricular fibrillation (VF).
Products & Services
Fall arrest systems prevent personnel from falling in construction sites, factories, etc.
Wastewater and water treatment equipment is used to treat, remedy and process water and wastewater.
Electric and electromagnetic wastewater and water treatment equipment uses electrical charging and magnetic energy to treat water and wastewater.
Coagulation equipment is used to promote the destabilization and initial aggregation or flocculation of finely divided suspended solids by the application of a magnetic field, the addition of a polyelectrolyte or a biological process.
Autoclaves are used for applications requiring constant pressure and temperature for long periods of time. Common applications include the sterilization of instruments and polymerization of rubbers and plastics.
